Lufthansa considers downgauging order book to smaller types 23.02.2021 - 12:06 UTCLufthansa (LH, Frankfurt Int'l) is in talks with both Airbus and Boeing about switching some its outstanding widebody orders to smaller types, #Lufthansa Group Chief Executive Carsten Spohr said during a London School of Economics German Symposium.

"We are putting many four-engined long-range aircraft out of the fleet and this creates a certain need for smaller long-range aircraft," he said.

As reported by Bloomberg, Spohr said that both manufacturers had responded constructively but did not go into details, He did, however, underline that demand for business traffic may never return to pre-COVID levels as many companies have now embraced remote virtual communication technologies. Alitalia Società Aerea Italiana S.p.A. is back in the news

New #Alitalia Runs Into Headwinds From EU Over Slots (Reuters) -Talks between the European Union and Italy on a restructuring plan for Alitalia face a stumbling block as the European Commission demands the carrier give up a significant number of airport slots, three sources close to the matter said.
I am considering to provide consultancy to Italian government on the matter.
My 1st advice will be- give up all slots EU wants- new Alitalia do not need them at all. Second- I was born in the USSR and I know for sure- profitable business and socialism can't go together.
And if you start not with the proper modern model but with Unions happiness you will collapse for sure Alitalia to be successful needs a completely new fleet.
All current planes have to be sold or returned to lessors.
You can't compete with others using outdated fleet.
The only advantage of re-start in pandemic is availability of any planes you need.

Another important point is that Russia is willing to bring #Superjet back to #Europe and #Alitalia is an excellent opportunity.
You can expect serious financing and 20-30 Superjets shortly.

4. Staff to be hired by new company

5. 1st charter flight with Fokker100

6. Improving the fleet of a new company by 5-6 units

7. Start of regular operations.

p.s. They need to avoid any competition with Air Montenegro

Potential merger might be possible later on

Aeroflot plans to order 300 aircraft from United Aircraft Corporation, which is majority owned by Rostec, Russia's state aerospace and defence conglomerate. Aeroflot was eyeing the Irkut MS-21 medium-range plane, also known as the MC-21, which can carry more than 200 passengers and is due to enter service this year. Aeroflot also wants the Sukhoi Superjet 100, Russia's main domestic-made passenger jet, which typically seats just under 100 passengers. A smaller number of orders would be made for the Tupolev Tu-214, which seats around 200 people. #SSJ #Superjet #aircraft

БАНГАЛОР (Индия), 14 фев – РИА Новости. Объединëнная авиастроительная корпорация рассматривает возможность локализации и производства в Индии Sukhoi SuperJet, заявил глава ОАК Юрий Слюсарь.

"Проект самолёта Sukhoi
SuperJet, возможность локализации и производства здесь (в Индии) мы рассматриваем. Есть уже опыт серийного производства здесь. Так называемое импортное лицо Sukhoi SuperJet, которое не поставляется в Россию сейчас, Индия в этом лице может закупать агрегаты с нашей помощью и с поставками наших комплектующих наладить здесь производство планера и сделать полноценный индийский самолёт с поставками на внутренний рынок и на рынки дружественных стран. Я думаю, что для Индии это интересно. Получить современный гражданский самолёт с нашей помощью -  сейчас это шаг вперед", - сказал Слюсарь РИА Новости.

"100-местная машина здесь востребована, в первую очередь на внутренних перевозках, страна большая, на наш взгляд такие самолёты подойдут. Ну а мы готовы оказать всю необходимую помощь и с технологической, и с технической стороны, потому что Индия - это наши большие друзья. Мы бы хотели, что бы эта дружба развивалась не только в военной сфере, но и гражданской", - добавил он.

Он также отметил, что Россия предлагает Индии самолёты Ил-114 и сотрудничество по самолёту МС-21.
