With the support of the Representative Office of Rossotrudnichestvo in India and the Indian Association of Russian Compatriots, Father Frost from Veliky Ustyug came to India for the first time.
He walked around Delhi, met with Indian children and adults.
Father Frost also visited the famous monument "India Gate" located in New Delhi, met with Indian schoolchildren and students, who warmly welcomed him and were completely delighted.
Everyone wanted to take a photo with the main fairy-tale character of the New Year's holiday.
At the end of the walk, Father Frost congratulated everyone on the upcoming New Year and wished them goodness and a fairy-tale mood!

🎅 On December 20th, Father Frost and his little helper Snow Maiden have appeared in the Russian House to congratulate children with the upcoming New Year and Christmas.
Maxim Kozlov, Consul General of the Russian Federation in Kolkata, welcomed all and congratulated Russian compatriots with the upcoming holidays.
🎶 The Christmas concert by the young students of the Academy for the Musical Excellence was presented to the audience. It consisted of timeless pieces by P. Tchaikovsky, D. Shostakovich, J. Strauss II, J. S. Bach and modern compositions on fortepiano and violin. Surendranath Majumdar, Director of the Academy, supported his students at the event.
🎄 Father Frost and Snow Maiden gathered all into a traditional 'khorovod' dance and entertained them with games.
All children received gifts, and the young musicians have been awarded with books of Russian literature and certificates of appreciation for their bright performances.
The event was organized by the Russian House in Kolkata and the Indian Association of Russian Compatriots.

🎶 Вниманию зрителей был представлен рождественский концерт юных студентов Академии музыкального мастерства. Он состоял из классических произведений П. Чайковского, Д. Шостаковича, И. Штрауса II, И.С. Баха и современных произведений для фортепиано и скрипки. Директор Академии Сурендранатх Маджумдар поддерживал своих студентов на мероприятии.
🎄 Дед Мороз и Снегурочка собрали всех в традиционный хоровод вокруг ёлки и развлекли гостей играми.
Все дети получили подарки, а юные музыканты были награждены книгами русской литературы и благодарственными грамотами за свои яркие выступления.
Организаторами мероприятия выступили Русский Дом в Индии и Индийская ассоциация российских соотечественников.

On January 20th, Dr. Natalia Gerasimova, PhD History, Moscow State University & Spouse of Consul General of the Russian Federation in Kolkata, delivered an interactive lecture on the history of Moscow Kremlin at the Institute of Russian Language, Russian House in Kolkata.
Dr. Gerasimova particularly told the students about the history and significance of the Kremlin, its founding, architectural uniqueness and cultural importance for our country.

Exhibition on Siege of Leningrad and Stalingrad Battle will be presented at the Kolkata Book Fair
The national pavilion of Russia will be welcoming visitors of the 48th Kolkata International Book Fair from January 28 to February 9, 2025. Russian House will present the exhibition of photographs on the Siege of Leningrad and the Stalingrad Battle, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Second World War.
The pavilion will be open to visitors from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. daily.

Students of rhe Moscow State Institute of Foreign Affairs visited the Russian House
On January 31, the Institute of Russian Language, Russian House in Kolkata organised an interactive session with the students of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations, headed by Prof.Irina Prokofieva and Yulia Kalinina, a representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia.
Sergey Shushin, Vice Consul and Director of Russian House in Kolkata gave a welcome address which was followed by speech of Prof Prokofieva about the importance and relevance of learning a foreign language.
A lively interactive session in Bengali and Russian language followed along with rendition of Bengali songs by the Russian students and Russian songs by the Indian students.

About 200 events dedicated to the Victory anniversary will be held in Russian Houses abroad
Rossotrudnichestvo, together with Russian Houses and non-governmental public organizations, organizes about 200 events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War around the world.
"Moreover, we will use not only state—owned Russian houses, but also a network of partner Russian houses, the number of which has already reached 20 in different countries of the world", - said Deputy Head of the department Dmitry Polikanov at the press conference.
He also noted that work is underway in both friendly and unfriendly states, including France, Cyprus and South Korea.
Special attention is paid to the role of compatriots in Victory, which is why the key series of events is called "People and Destinies". A conference in Rome with the participation of historians from different countries is scheduled for April to discuss this topic, the deputy head of the agency said. Commemorative actions will be held at the memorials and graves of the heroes of the Resistance movement.
The main celebrations are expected in the CIS countries, whose peoples played a crucial role in the defeat of Nazi Germany. Festive rallies and marches, congratulations to veterans are planned in Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, as well as in Abkhazia, Turkmenistan and South Ossetia.
As part of the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in Africa, the best Soviet and Russian films dedicated to the Great Patriotic War will be shown in a similar way. "Memory lessons" are also organized in Russian language courses and in schools in Tanzania, Tunisia, Ethiopia and other African countries.
In addition, the program includes various initiatives aimed at preserving historical memory. Among them are the contest "My family in history", the campaign "Letter to soldiers", "Dictation of Victory" and many others.

Rossotrudnichestvo, together with Russian Houses and non-governmental public organizations, organizes about 200 events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War around the world.
"Moreover, we will use not only state—owned Russian houses, but also a network of partner Russian houses, the number of which has already reached 20 in different countries of the world", - said Deputy Head of the department Dmitry Polikanov at the press conference.
He also noted that work is underway in both friendly and unfriendly states, including France, Cyprus and South Korea.
Special attention is paid to the role of compatriots in Victory, which is why the key series of events is called "People and Destinies". A conference in Rome with the participation of historians from different countries is scheduled for April to discuss this topic, the deputy head of the agency said. Commemorative actions will be held at the memorials and graves of the heroes of the Resistance movement.
The main celebrations are expected in the CIS countries, whose peoples played a crucial role in the defeat of Nazi Germany. Festive rallies and marches, congratulations to veterans are planned in Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, as well as in Abkhazia, Turkmenistan and South Ossetia.
As part of the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in Africa, the best Soviet and Russian films dedicated to the Great Patriotic War will be shown in a similar way. "Memory lessons" are also organized in Russian language courses and in schools in Tanzania, Tunisia, Ethiopia and other African countries.
In addition, the program includes various initiatives aimed at preserving historical memory. Among them are the contest "My family in history", the campaign "Letter to soldiers", "Dictation of Victory" and many others.
