🔴 Today I would like to share the beautiful landscapes of Dagestan. It feels like someone spilled soft green paint over the mountains.
Gagarin Peak in Dagestan

The crest of the Gimrinsky Range has a wavy terrain without sharply prominent peaks — the ridge serves as a natural boundary between the foothill and mid-mountain zones of Dagestan. Gagarin Peak is3 located between the Severemeer and Rogdomeer Mountains, with an altitude of about 1900 meters. It overlooks the ancient Dagestan village of Gimry. The neighboring mountains, together with the unnamed hills of the ridge, create a wavy terrain.

Many famous people visited these peaks — Aivazovsky, Alexander Dumas and even Emperor Nicholas II during their acquaintance with the empire.

Tarasov's mansion is a true oasis of the Italian Renaissance amidst the bustle of Moscow. It was built at the beginning of the 20th century: the project was ordered by Gavriil Tarasov, a Moscow merchant.

The idea was ambitious: Gabriel wanted a house that looked like a palazzo in Vicenza (a city in Italy), and architect Zholtovsky did not disappoint. He created a true Italian palace that you would hardly expect in the very center of Moscow — marble, columns, arches.

But it was his wife, Maria Klavdiyevna Tenisheva, who made Flyonovo something more: a country school where children from peasant families could study and develop arts and crafts for free.

🔴 It's been a long time since we had posts about the Soviet heritage of art.
Inside the modernist swimming pool of the Sports Palace on the territory of the All-Russian Children's Center "Orlyonok" in the Tuapse district of the Krasnodar Territory, a real find lurks - a Soviet relief mosaic with Neptune.

Orlyonok is not just a camp on the coast, but a real open-air museum of Soviet modernism and mosaics. The monumental panels that adorn the buildings and halls were created by talented artists from all over the Soviet Union: Leningrad, Moscow, Sochi, Krasnodar - every detail keeps a piece of that era and still surprises.
The authors of the panel are artists Oleg Kuznetsov and Georgy Prikot.
