๐Ÿ“† Today, on the eve of Russia's Diplomatic Workers' Day, we honour our legendary predecessors and outstanding mentors. Among them is Alexander Mikhailovich Kadakin (1949-2017).

Having gone through all the stages of the diplomatic career, Alexander Kadakin headed Russian diplomatic foreign missions four times โ€” in Nepal, Sweden and twice in India in 1999-2004 and 2009-2017 and entered the history as one of the most notable representatives of the Russian modern diplomatic school.

๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ The work of his whole life was to strengthen friendly relations with India, and in this he reached unrivaled heights. His name is known to everyone in India; Prime Ministers Indira and Rajiv Gandhi, Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Manmohan Singh, and the current head of the Government of India, Narendra Modi, considered Alexander Kadakin their friend. Under him, the Russian-Indian ties reached the level of strategic, and then โ€” special and privileged strategic partnership. To this day, Alexander Mikhailovich is the only foreign ambassador in whose honour one of the central streets of New Delhi is named.

โœ๏ธ Over the years of his work, Alexander Mikhailovich trained a whole galaxy of Russian diplomats-Indologists, who strive to carry his mantle with dignity. A diplomat, teacher, publicist, interpreter, Kadakin wrote the best guide to the ancient sights of the Indian capital.

The name of Alexander Mikhailovich Kadakin is rightfully inscribed in golden letters in the annals of Russian diplomacy and foreign policy. His contribution to strengthening the position of our country in India and in the international arena is great. We remember and pay homage to Alexander Kadakin as a wise mentor, a brilliant scholar, a professional with extensive experience, an iconic figure in Russian Indology.
