Thoughts after a few hours of playing with Steam Machine.
- 3D performance is justβ¦meh.
- The system recommends to default to 1080p - am I going back to PS4 days?
- Some games take a looooooong time to boot, what is it doing?
- System UI is easy to use.
- Being able to boot up by pressing a button on Steam Controller is a killer feature.
- Changeable face plate is nice.
- Random boot up videos is a nice touch :)
- Sticks on Steam Controller is a bit looser than my taste.
- Having touch pad is nice, but it is very βtouchyβ and hard to use.
- It allows me to play Steam games on my living room TV, which is a reason enough to keep it.
- But the price was very unfriendly. Hard to recommend to people unless for research.

It took about 20 minutes for one of the first Steam Machines to get the GPU fried. To make it funnier, the errors are marked as LED-stripe on the frontal part of the device. Which reminds of the legendary XBOX Ring of Death issue but it took weeks before the first case appeared, not days.
Users can't replace the GPU alone, it's not replaceable, so they've had to ask for the replacement from Valve (and wait due to supply issues)

My hopes for The Witcher 4 are still not that high. Replayed Cyberpunk a few days ago and oh boi, it has nothing to say after 150 hours. My whole experience with CDPR games is love and hate.

Movies Her and Lost in Translation are basically a dialogue between Spike Jonze and Sofia Coppola about their failed marriage, using the same actress in a female role over a decade apart.

PlayStation locked down their new Marvel fighting game (you most likely never heard of) behind PSN. It's now unavailable in 130+ countries and only regions with full PSN support will get it.
What a suicide π«‘
Sadly that the new project is made by the legendary Arc System Works and a lot of their future relies on it. Sony basically sabotage yet another studio (after doing the same to Helldivers 2)
