🇷🇺🇸🇩 On September 23, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Chairman of the Supreme (Sovereignty) Council of Sudan Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan held a meeting on the sidelines of the #UNGA77.
The discussion focused on various aspects of the further development of traditionally friendly Russian-Sudanese relations. The parties reaffirmed their mutual interest in expanding business cooperation between the two countries, including in the context of implementing agreements reached at the regular meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation held in Moscow in August 2022.
The officials stressed the importance of strengthening bilateral coordination on current regional issues between Moscow and Khartoum at the UN and other international venues.

🇷🇺🇸🇩 On September 21, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov had a meeting with Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council of the Republic of Sudan Abdel Fattah al-Burhan on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly’s 78th Session.
The conversation focused on the ongoing developments in Sudan resulting from the continuing hostilities between the country’s regular army and the Rapid Support Forces, with Russia emphasising the need to stop the armed confrontation and resolve all disputed issues through talks.
The agenda also covered efforts to expand the traditionally friendly relations between Russia and Sudan in their various aspects. The participants reaffirmed their commitment to stepping up their foreign policy coordination on the international and regional agendas within the United Nations and at other platforms.

💬 Sergey Lavrov: We hope that during our conversation you will share information on the latest developments in your country. We are primarily concerned with ending the conflict as soon as possible and returning to the national dialogue.
❗️ We are ready to assist this in every way.
A year ago, we met with you in Moscow. The situation was different at that time. In any case, there are now influential external players that are working out of sync. We would like to bring their efforts to a common denominator to prevent some or other forces inside the Sudan from being tempted to continue the conflict. We will discuss this in greater detail later today.
