Latest report on better regulation in #Greece.
Since 2018, the Center for Liberal Studies publishes annually the Regulatory Quality Index (RQI); a report on the current trends of the better regulation principles in Greece. The RQI evaluates every law passed in the Greek parliament during the previous years, using a composite indicator which incorporates the better regulation theoretical framework. The Center measures 48 indicators (organized in 4 pillars) on better regulation requirements, and we collect data for each law passed every year.
An example of these indicators is the number of last-minute amendments. For this indicator we measure the number of last-minute amendments for each law, and we also present the sum of last-minute amendments during each year. An interesting finding regarding this indicator is that even though recent state reports state that the practice of last-minute amendments submitted to Parliament decreased, this is only partly true. In fact, last-minute amendments still exist, but lately Parliament is more extensively using an old legal loophole to not categorize them as last-minute amendments.
In the attached table - a list of all the indicators was measured for every law passed in Greece since 2017.👇
