On July 9, Indian students from the National Research Nuclear University #MEPhI and other universities in the country had a chance to interact with the wotld leaders at the Atom pavilion of the international exhibition and forum "Russia".
The pavilion presented by the Rosatom, Russian State Atomic Energy Corporation, displays the history, current projects and the future potential of the nuclear power usage. Nuclear collaboration between Russia and India did not stop even in the turbulent 1990s.
Soumojit Mukherjee, a PhD scholarship student from India, explained the opportunities of nuclear power in food preservation in hot climates like in his homeland India. President Putin pointed on the importance of having such valuable professionals, in developing the collaborative projects and strengthening of the bilateral partnership.
✅️ This year, Russia sees record growth in number of foreign students Almost 355,000 students from around the world are studying at Russian universities. This is the largest number of foreigners studying in the new Russia since 1990.

The II International Buddhist Forum is being held in Buryatia
Buddhists from 15 countries have become participants in the international Buddhist forum, TASS reports.
They gathered in the capital of Buryatia, and were joined by representatives of Russian regions. The forum, which Ulan-Ude is hosting for the second time, started on Monday, August 12. Its main theme was “Traditional Buddhism and Modern Challenges.” The Buryatia authorities said that the largest delegations came from China and India. These are the largest countries where Buddhism is widespread.

The 5th Rosatom Scientific and Educational Expedition is being held in an international format for the first time. “15 participants of the World Youth Festival, children from countries where we are actively developing nuclear technologies, and the best Russian schoolchildren will become a real team,” said Atomflot CEO Leonid Irlitsa, speaking at the expedition’s launch ceremony.
“The icebreaker will travel one thousand two hundred miles to the North Pole. We plan to reach the top of the planet on August 17,” said Ruslan Sasov, captain of the nuclear icebreaker 50 Let Pobede, and launched the voyage.
During the voyage, the participants will get acquainted with the icebreaker’s structure and operation, and see the unique nature of the Arctic. Rosatom and the Knowledge Society will hold a joint and northernmost lecture for the first time, during which scientists, teachers, and science bloggers will speak to schoolchildren. Among the speakers of the northernmost lecture hall are Russian crystallographer-theorist, mineralogist, chemist, teacher, professor of the Russian Academy of Sciences Artem Oganov, paleoanthropologist and popularizer of scientific knowledge Stanislav Drobyshevsky, senior lecturer of the Department of Engineering Radioecology and Radiochemical Technology of the St. Petersburg State Technical University Andrey Akatov and others.

🗺Впервые в истории проекта в путешествии принимают участие представители Всемирного фестиваля молодёжи из 15 стран: России, Армении, Узбекистана, Казахстана, Кыргызстана, Белоруссии, Монголии, Венгрии, Индии, Китая, ЮАР, Камеруна, Ирака, Бангладеш и Туниса.
👨🏫За время экспедиции участники:
- Познакомятся с работой ледокола
- Изучат уникальную природу Арктики
- Примут участие в самом северном лектории от Росатома и Общества «Знание»
- Отправят открытки из самого северного почтового отделения на Земле Франца-Иосифа
- Станут звездами первого документального сериала о жизни международной команды школьников в арктических условиях.

🗺 For the first time in the project's history, representatives from the World Youth Festival from 15 countries are taking part in the journey: Russia, Armenia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, Mongolia, Hungary, India, China, South Africa, Cameroon, Iraq, Bangladesh, and Tunisia.
👨🏫 During the expedition, participants will:
- Familiarize themselves with the icebreaker's operations
- Study the unique Arctic nature
- Take part in the northernmost lecture series by Rosatom and the Russian Society "Znanie"
- Send postcards from the northernmost post office on Franz Josef Land
- Become stars of the first documentary series about the life of an international team of schoolchildren in the hard Arctic conditions.
