Traditional Russian breakfasts
Russian cuisine is extremely popular around the world. All the dishes consist of simple ingredients, but the variety of recipes and flavors is impressive! The very first meal is the energy boost and good mood guarantee for the whole day, so the Russian breakfast is given special attention.
#Pancakes are the Russian cuisine traditional dish, which appeared in the IX century. One needs milk, eggs and butter. Usually pancakes (#Blini) are served hot with sour cream, butter, honey or wrapped in various fillings – meat, fish, vegetables, sweet and fruit. Red caviar and salmon have been a favorite filling for gourmets for many years.
The older generation of Russians are well acquainted with semolina porridge, with which they often started their day in childhood. Furthermore, fruits and berries may be added to the porridge.
Cottage cheese pudding is another dish that Russians like since their childhood. The pudding in appearance is similar to baked goods, and its taste has a delicate flavor.
#Syrniky, or sweet cheesy fritters, are one of the most popular breakfast dishes in Russia. Protein-rich, they are extremely nourishing, and if you add raisins or pour condensed milk on top of the dish, it will be even tastier.
Cottage cheese pudding, or #Zapekanka is another dish loved by Russians since childhood. The casserole is similar in appearance to pastries, and its taste is delicate and curd.
Lazy-styled #vareniki differ from conventional dumplings by the filling which is mixed directly into the dough. The dish is prepared not only with cottage cheese. One can add cherries, potatoes, spinach, or pumpkin. The main advantage of such a breakfast is that you can make them in advance, freeze, and then cook them in 5 minutes whenever you want.

Сырники - один из популярных завтраков в России. Богатые белком они надолго утоляют чувство голода, а если добавить в рецепт изюм или полить сверху сгущённым молоком, будет еще вкуснее.
Ленивые вареники отличаются от обычных тем, что начинку вмешивают прямо в тесто. Блюдо готовят не только с творогом, можно добавить вишню, картофель, шпинат, тыкву. Главный плюс такого завтрака в том, что вы можете слепить вареники заранее, заморозить, а потом сварить за пять минут, когда захотите.

A play based on Maxim Gorky's short story "Once Upon a Fall" was staged in Kolkata
As part of the week-long celebration of the 154th birth anniversary of a Russian writer, poet, playwright, publicist and public figure Maxim Gorky (1868-1936), a premiere of a play based on Gorky's short story was held at the Russian House in Kolkata. The play in Bengali language was presented by the city's Natakwala Theater Group on March 25th, 2022.
The director of the play, Shyamal Kumar Chakraborty, in his address to the audience pointed at the longevity of his interaction with the Russian House in Kolkata and expressed his respect for the work of Maxim Gorky.
The story "Once Upon a Fall" refers to Gorky's early autobiographical works. The writer recalls himself in a difficult situation in an new city and warmly writes about an unfamiliar girl who came to his aid. The production involved professional actors - Srijita Saha as Natasha and Rohan Bhattacharya as the main character.
The premiere of the performance is also timed to coincide with World Theatre Day, celebrated annually on March 27.

В рамках недельного празднования 154-летия со дня рождения русского писателя, поэта, драматурга, публициста и общественного деятеля Максима Горького (1868-1936) в Русском доме в Калькутте состоялась премьера спектакля по "Однажды осенью" по мотивам одноимённого рассказа автора. Постановка была представлена калькуттским театром "Натаквала" на бенгальском языке.
Директор и постановщик пьесы, Шаямал Кумар Чакраборти, в обращении к зрителям отметил давние теплые связи с Русским домом в Калькутте и высказал почтение творчеству Максима Горького.
Рассказ "Однажды осенью" относится к ранним автобиографическим произведениям Горького. В нём писатель вспоминает себя в трудной ситуации в незнакомом городе и с теплотой пишет о незнакомой девушке, пришедшей ему на помощь. В постановке были задействованы профессиональные актёры - Сриджита Саха в роли Наташи и Рохан Бхаттачарья в роли главного героя.
Премьера спектакля также приурочена ко Всемирному дню театра, отмечаемому ежегодно 27 марта.
