Celebration of female themes through art has become a good tradition at the Russian House in Kolkata. On 5 March, senior consul of the Russian Federation Maxim Aleshin along with the head of the Russian House in Kolkata Sergey Shushin, inaugurated the Women's Day art exhibition.
Female artists spoke at the opening, noting the importance of visual art for the society and its potential power to reflect the issues and initiate social changes.
The exhibition will continue its work until 11 March.

Russian House in Kolkata invited young Indian artists to express their vision on space in the view of the upcoming Cosmonautics Day and the International Day of Human Space Flight, April 12. The drawing contest is being held on April 6.
Sergey Shushin, vice-consul and director of the Russian House welcomed children and spoke on the historical significance of the occasion and the importance of space exploration.
This year, the Cosmonautics Day marks the 63rd anniversary of the first human space flight, performed by a Soviet pilot Yury Gagarin aboard the Vostok-1 spacecraft. On 12 April 1961, Gagarin becamr the first human in history to reach orbital velocity around the Earth and to complete a full orbit. The flight lasted for 108 minutes.

In 2024, the Fоrum рrоgrаmmе will include lectures, master classes, dialogue events, workshops and sessions in the following fields: “Choreography”, “Cinema and Animation”, “Theater and Circus”, “Music”, “Museum and Fine Arts”, “Literature and Journalism”.
Gifted children aged 12 to 17 years (inclusive) аrе invited to participate
in the Fоrum - laureates and participants of creative competitions and festivals
who demonstrate bright abilities and initiative.
The organizer of the Fоrum, ROSCONCERT, will provide the stay
of а creative delegation consisting of 6 children and 1 accompanying person (adult) in Moscow from 21 to 25 August, 2024, including accommodation in the hotel, meals and city transfers. Travel for participants to Moscow is to be covered by the sending party.
The Forum programme also includes а concert рrоgrаmmе of delegate countries representing national cultural traditions. To qualify for inclusion in the concert prоgrаmmе we kindly ask to submit а video recording up to 4 minutes of а concert performance by national instrumental ensembles (at least 3 people)
