Victory Day celebrated in Kolkata

The students of the Institute of Russian language, Russian House in Kolkata organised a concert dedicated to the 79th anniversary of Victory over fascism on Friday, May 10th.

The programme included recitation of poems ,rendition of wartime songs and reading of letters from the front. Exhibition of photographs depicting moments of the Second Word war was prepared for the event.

In memory of the heroes, students took part in the world campaign "St. George's Ribbon".

Концерт ко Дню Победы прошёл в Калькутте

В пятницу, 10 мая, студенты Института русского языка при Русском доме в Калькутте организовали концерт, посвященный 79-летию Победы над фашизмом.

В программу вошли декламация стихов, исполнение военных песен и чтение писем с фронта. Выставка фотографий времён Второй мировой войны была подготовлена для мероприятия.

Отдавая дань памяти героев Великой Отечественной войны, студенты приняли участие во всемирной акции "Георгиевская ленточка".

Russian compatriots marked the Victory Day in Kolkata

🌟 On May 5, on the eve of the celebration of the 79th anniversary of the great Victory, Russian compatriots commemorated their ancestors who took part in the Great Patriotic war and defeated the Nazi regime in 1945.

Many stories were heard about the family members, who lived through the war - their combat path, their contributions on the front-line and in the rear.

🕊 The event took place in the Russian House, from the territory of which the international remembrance campaign was launched - the "Immortal Regiment". Russian compatriots, in whichever country they live now, assemble in processions and walk, carrying photographs of their veteran ancestors to pay the tribute to their suffering during the war and to teach the new generation to respect the history of their nation.

Российские соотечественники отметили День Победы в Калькутте

🚴🏊‍♂️ The VIII World Games of Young Compatriots started in Moscow, participants came from more than 30 countries. Chess player Prithvir Prokhorov from Kolkata is taking part from India at the world games.

👦 The young participant shared his emotions about the upcoming trip to Russia: “For me, this is the first serious competition at this level that will be held in Russia. In anticipation of a big event, I hope to show my best side at the youth games and get to know the modern cultural life of Russia better.

👥 A total of 450 athletes will take part in the games.
🔹 They will compete in popular school sports: basketball, volleyball, chess, table tennis, wrestling and swimming, as well as in the “Dialogues in Russian” competition program.

✅ Since 2015, Rossotrudnichestvo, together with the Russian Ministry of Sports and the All-Russian School Sports Federation, has been organizing the World Games of Young Compatriots.

📊 Russia, despite Western sanctions, has increased the enrollment of foreign students in domestic universities. The growth champion is India. Over the year, the enrollment of citizens of this country in Russian universities increased by 40%.

🏢 Российские вузы создают все условия для обучения и прохождения стажировок индийских студентов; преподавание в вузах ведется на русском и английском языках; за время пребывания в России студенты получают практические навыки и устанавливают прочные личные контакты.

📊 Россия, несмотря на западные санкции, увеличила набор иностранных студентов в отечественные вузы. Чемпионом по росту является Индия. За год набор граждан этой страны в российские вузы вырос на 40%.
