ENG/RUS The Russian film «The Challenge», the first ever film shot on the International Space Station (ISS), will be released in 20 countries around the world.

It tells the story of a female surgeon who goes to the ISS to save a cosmonaut. One of the roles in the drama was played by cosmonaut Oleg Novitsky.

"The film was a real challenge - for everyone who was involved in its creation. Yulia Peresild and Klim Shipenko spent 3.5 months preparing for the flight and they were 12 days in space on the ISS. The whole world followed this legendary event," said Olga Lyubimova, Minister of Culture of Russia.

In Russia, the premiere took place on 12 April, on Cosmonautics Day.

In 2023, the Russian State Film Fund plans to digitize 40 pictures from its own collection. The list of films will include such well-known films as "Chapaev", " The Exploit of a Scout", "Mom Got married", "Hello Goodbye", the second series of "Young Guard" and others. The International Gorodets Film Festival named after St. Alexander Nevsky will take place in the Nizhny Novgorod region from September 15 to 17. The event will showcase short films by young filmmakers dedicated to topics such as friendship, family, kindness, culture, healthy lifestyle, labor, creativity, nature and science.
Attendees can also participate in master classes by leading figures in the film industry, creative meetings with famous actors and directors, as well as roundtable discussions on current topics in modern cinema.
Short films made between 2021 and 2023, no longer than 25 minutes and with Russian subtitles if not filmed in Russian, will be considered for the competition.

С 15 по 17 сентября в Нижегородской области состоится Международный Городецкий кинофестиваль имени святого Александра Невского. New territories of Russia get 4 cinemas

With the support of the Ministry of Culture of Russia, 4 new cinemas opened in the cities of Rovenky and Sukhodolsk of the #LPR, as well as in Khartsyzsk and Zhdanovka of the #DPR. The total capacity of all cinemas is more than 700 seats.

Free screenings of the domestic film "Baba Yaga saves the world" will be held the first. From December 28, cinemas will have 5 sessions per day: 2 sessions of the films "Three Heroes and the Navel of the Earth" and "Magnificent Five", as well as 1 session of the film "New Year's Chef".

Cinemas have been opened as part of the national project "Culture".
