🇿🇼🇷🇺 Zimbabwe air ambulance service created with Russia's help saves 67 lives since its launch in August 2024
The government-funded service provided critical emergency medical transport, ensuring patients receive timely care in cases where rapid intervention is essential, which is especially important in rural areas, where medical facilities can be limited, local media reported.
Zimbabwe received a fleet of 18 Russian-made helicopters in May 2023. Russian HeliDrive company is in the process of training 40 pilots, 40 doctors, 100 nurses and 10 engineers to operate the service, strengthening Zimbabwe's healthcare infrastructure and ensuring long-term sustainability.
🚁 The service is equipped with six air ambulances strategically located across the country to ensure rapid response. The initiative is part of the government's healthcare modernization drive and aims to reduce fatalities from road accidents and provide swift access to critical care.

"Our cadets are trained at various military universities in the Russian Federation, including training in logistics and engineering. There are just over 50 now, but in cooperation with the General Staff of the Republic of Zimbabwe, we are now trying to increase this number and approach the number of 100 cadets by next year," the group captain Kingsley Zimbudzana told journalists.

On October 5, 26 teachers of schools in the Republic of Zimbabwe started training under the Professional Development Program "Artificial Intelligence in Education" in a remote mode at the Perm State Humanitarian Pedagogical University. The first classes have already been held and positive feedback has been received from students about the importance, benefits, and relevance of the material. Classes will be organized for teachers on topics related to lesson preparation using ChatGPT, creating lesson plans and developing content for lessons, creating quizzes on artificial intelligence platforms (Quzizz AI), etc for a month on Saturdays. We’d like to remind you as well that in August 2024 in accordance with the agreements reached in Kazan at the International Forum of Ministers of Education, the Rector of PSHPU arrived in the Republic of Zimbabwe, where a meeting with Honorable Minister Torreryi Moyo and representatives of the Ministry of Primary and General Education took place. The meeting participants discussed a project to launch an online Professional Development Program "Artificial Intelligence in Education" for teachers of the Republic of Zimbabwe. The Minister pointed out the high demand for teaching teachers on topics related to artificial intelligence and its use in the educational process. Both sides express hope for a long and fruitful cooperation.

В ходе состоявшейся беседы был рассмотрен комплекс вопросов дальнейшего укрепления традиционно дружественных российско-зимбабвийских отношений с акцентом на наращивание взаимовыгодного сотрудничества в торгово-экономической, научной и гуманитарной сферах.

On November 5, 2024 the Soyuz-2.1b launched vehicle into orbit the Ionosphere-M heliogeophysical satellites No. 1 and No. 2, as well as 49 spacecraft as an associated payload, including the first Russian-Zimbabwean spacecraft ZimSat-2.
ZimSat-2 is a small satellite developed by SouthWest State University and the Zimbabwe National Geospatial and Space Agency (ZINGSA), which is designed for Earth observation and data collection in various fields, including agriculture, environmental protection and natural resource management.
ZimSat-2 is equipped with a multispectral camera that allows to take images of the Earth's surface. It is able to collect data on the condition of agricultural land.
By the end of 2024, Russian specialists plan to modernize the existing ground infrastructure to ensure the technical ability to work not only in the VHF bands, but also in the S, L and X bands, as well as advanced training of ZINGSA specialists in relevant areas both within the framework of basic programs (bachelor's, master's, postgraduate) and short-term additional education programs.

📄 Joint Statement of the First Ministerial Conference of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum on the implementation of the Declaration of the Second Russia-Africa Summit on strengthening cooperation in the fight against terrorism (Sochi, 10 November, 2024)
❗️ We strongly condemn all acts, methods and practices of terrorism, which are never justifiable, regardless of motivation or context. We denounce terrorism in all forms and manifestations, wherever, whenever and by whomsoever committed. We reject politicization and double standards in countering terrorism.
☝️ We emphasize the importance of continuing to implement the provisions of the Declaration on Strengthening Counter-Terrorism Cooperation adopted at the Second Russia-Africa Summit (St. Petersburg, July 28, 2023) by the Heads of State and Government of the Russian Federation and African countries, representatives of the African Union and other leading African integration associations.
We reaffirm our interest in developing joint cooperation in the field of countering international terrorism and confirm that the main efforts in this area should be concentrated on suppressing the activities of international terrorist organizations and their affiliates, as well as the prevention of terrorism, while remaining in compliance with international law, including international human rights law, international humanitarian law and international refugee law.
We remain committed to addressing the various factors and root causes that may contribute to the expansion of the influence of terrorist organizations in Africa.
We condemn the misuse of information and telecommunication networks for terrorist purposes including planning, radicalization, recruitment and terrorist financing.
We support open and constructive counter terrorism dialogue and cooperation between the Russian Federation and African States through:
• The development and implementation of measures to disrupt and suppress terrorist organizations and their financing channels, including knowledge sharing on emerging risks and threats;
• Strengthening cooperation between the competent authorities of the states in the exchange of information within the framework of national legislation, on the activities of terrorist organizations;
• Continuation of coordinated preventive and investigative measures to counter terrorism, violent extremism, conducive to terrorism, as well as terrorist financing, the use of the internet for terrorist purposes, and transnational organized crime;
• Organization of events for the exchange of experience in combating terrorist manifestations, including the rehabilitation and reintegration of persons linked to terror related activities <...>.
We recognize and respect the sovereignty, agency and independence of African States and reaffirm the need to jointly oppose neo-colonialism, as stated in the Declaration of the Second Russia-Africa Summit (St. Petersburg, July 28, 2023).
🤝 We believe that effective cooperation in combating terrorism and violent extremism, conducive to terrorism, remains a crucial aspect of Russia's ongoing relations with the States of the African continent.
