YouTube Music for Android has introduced a subtle gradient background in its Now Playing user interface (UI), as reported back in October. The updated UI also features floating icons for Up Next, Lyrics, and Related tabs, which were previously in a single block in the bottom bar. Although YouTube Music is enhancing its UI, its podcast integration lags behind competitors, leading Google to discontinue Google Podcasts and position YouTube Music as the centralized podcasting destination. Despite visual improvements, some users prefer to keep music and podcasts separate, and Google Podcasts is expected to be discontinued by April 2024, joining other products in the Google graveyard.
