🏔 On October 9-10, the Roerich Museum-Estate in the Himalayan Kullu Valley, Himachal Pradesh, hosted jubilee celebrations dedicated to the 150th birth anniversary of Nicholas Roerich and the 120th birth anniversary of his son Svetoslav Roerich, outstanding Russian painters, thinkers and travellers.

👥 The ceremony was attended by Russian Ambassador to India Denis Alipov and Torul S Raveesh, Deputy Commissioner, Kullu District. Among other guests were residents of Naggar, volunteers, Indian public and cultural figures, Russian compatriots and foreign tourists.

📰 In his welcoming address, Denis Alipov underscored that honoring the Roerich family in Kullu, who personifies the multifaceted cultural and historical ties between Russia and India, has become a good tradition.

🇷🇺🇮🇳 The programme of celebrations was opened with Shanti Puja – a prayer for peace and well-being, held next to the memorial stone installed at the site of Nicholas Roerich's cremation. It was followed by a solemn ceremony of raising the national flags of Russia and India, as well as the Banner of Peace.

🎶 As part of the concert on the stage of the estate, memorable creative numbers of young students of the Helena Roerich Academy of Arts were presented. The highlight of the celebrations was a bright performance by the honored folk dance ensemble "Stanitsa" from Krasnodar.

🇷🇺🇮🇳 On October 14, Russian Ambassador to India Denis Alipov addressed the opening ceremony of the conference dedicated to the 150th birth anniversary of outstanding Russian artist and philosopher Nicholas Roerich.

📰 He underscored the utmost importance of joint efforts to preserve and promote the artistic, scientific and spiritual heritage of the Roerich family, noting in this regard the significant contribution of the relevant museums in Russia, India, Mongolia and other countries.

👥 Among the speakers were Representative of Rossotrudnichestvo in India Elena Remizova, Director of the St Petersburg State Museum-Institute of the Roerichs Alexander Bondarenko, Vice President of the National Roerich Committee Mikhail Chiryatyev, Additional Secretary of the Indian Council of World Affairs Nutan Kapoor Mahawar, Minister Counsellor of the Mongolian Embassy in India Ulziit Luvsanjav, Director of the Roerich Family House Museum in Ulaanbaatar Bira Yanzhmaa and others.

👀 A number of prominent Russian and Indian experts and researchers of Nicholas Roerich's life joined the event online.

🖼 On the margins of the conference, two thematic exhibitions were inaugurated – "Ways of Blessing. Roerichs and India" and "Izvara – Roerich's Homeland".

🇷🇺🇮🇳 On October 16, Diana Alipova, Spouse of the Russian Ambassador to India, took part in the solemn inauguration of the Nicholas Roerich International Center at the Sancta Maria International School in Faridabad.

🔘The event timed to coincide with the 150th birth anniversary of the outstanding Russian artist and philosopher brought together representatives of the Russian diplomatic mission and Indian cultural organizations.

👥 The ceremony was also attended by Elena Remizova, Representative of Rossotrudnichestvo in India, and Elena Barman, President of the Indian Association of Russian Compatriots (IARS).

🤔 The new center is supposed to be a platform for the youth of both countries, providing an opportunity to explore the legacy of the great master.

🖼 Portrait mastery became a special page in the master's creative path — his works featured the ability to reveal the inner world of a person, convey the spiritual and emotional appearance of the model.

🇮🇳 India became his second homeland, where he created many wonderful paintings that captured the richness of local culture and philosophy. Svetoslav Roerich's artistic legacy manifests itself in a harmonious synthesis of Western and Eastern traditions, embodied in exquisite technique and deep symbolic content of paintings.

🇷🇺🇮🇳 On October 24, the Russian House in Trivandrum celebrated the 120th birth anniversary of the outstanding Russian painter, philosopher, and continuator of a great dynasty Svetoslav Roerich.

Russian compatriots and members of the Roerich School of the Russian House laid flowers at Svetoslav Roerich's bust on the Roerich Road in the city.

📰 Speaking on the occasion, Ratheesh Nair, Honorary Consul of Russia in Trivandrum, noted that on October 30 there will be conducted a special seminar dedicated to the 150th birth anniversary of Nikolas Roerich and the 120th birth anniversary of Svetoslav Roerich.

👥 Diplomas and memorable gifts were received by more than 30 students who took part in the competition in three nominations — artistic word, fine and decorative & applied arts.

📰 The hosts of the event noted the importance of the festival for introducing the younger generation to the heritage of the family that links Russia and India.
