Young Alawite Woman Who Was Kidnapped and Released Shares Testimony About General Security Militia Involvement in Her Abduction
A 25-year-old woman named “Hala Nawras Ibrahim,” from the Alawite community, gave testimony about the circumstances of her kidnapping and detention, along with her nine-month-old baby, at the hands of the #HTS-led General Security militias.
Ms. Hala Nawras Ibrahim was reportedly kidnapped on May 17, 2025, together with her son Ali Youssef Khuzami, from underneath the Hamimim Bridge near Jableh.
Hala Ibrahim: “General Security kidnapped me and my child from under the Hamimim Bridge in Jableh. They assaulted me several times before cutting my body with razor blades.”
Hala: “When they sent me back to my family, they had shaved my head and cut my body with razor blades all over, trying to force me to sign a marriage contract with a General Security member.”
Hala: “I heard other girls screaming in the place where they were holding me.”
Hala: “They told my family to delete all the posts about the kidnapping once I was sent back after my family paid a ransom.”

It's worth nothing that multiple testimonies from other released kidnapping victims reportedly point to two men, Haitham Abbas “a.k.a. Salah”, who commands General Security militias in Jableh, and someone known as Hakim al-Diri, who commands General Security militias in Latakia province, as being involved in kidnapping women across Latakia province, covering for the kidnappers, and threatening victims’ families.
