The videos circulating regarding Kobani Prison, along with reports claiming that the Kurdish security forces (Asayish) refrained from opening the prison doors for the detainees, are misleading reports and are unrelated to the recent incident.
The truth:
One of the circulating videos dates back to March 21, 2026, documenting a prison riot carried out by Turkish-backed mercenaries inside the prison at that time, before the Kurdish security forces (Asayish) managed to bring the situation under control.
Using this video as documentation of the recent events at Kobani Prison is an attempt by the Syrian intelligence services, the Turkish intelligence agency (MIT), and individuals linked to them to fabricate the facts and cover up the crime committed by General Security (HTS) personnel.
