Meanwhile, the first in decades crewed mission to fly around the Moon has been safely launched. No landing this time but still cool. Artemis II will fly around Earth now, then will orbit the Moon six times, and turn back home.

New Glenn rocket by Blue Origin went off at Cape Canaveral this night. The fireball was visible from miles away. And the best video is from local fishermen, of course.

In the meantime, on September 30 the lead software developer of the Apollo project passed away. Margaret Hamilton was 90 and she kept doing science and software for decades.

She was initially allowed to lead the team only because her boss believed that it's something equal to a writer while boys do the real job in engineering. She named the new role Software Engineering in response and became a fouken legend.

Astronauts praised her work, since even when hardware was cooked by harsh space, the software remained reliable and helped to bring them home.
