If you missed the whole show, Epic Games is trying to be AI first and only company. That sounds delusional at best. Tim is doing his casual Twitter shitposting to explain the situation (and make it worse).

“No more hand-written code,” one of the game’s directors told staff in an internal message reviewed by Bloomberg. The director added that all art for the game would be “generated with full AI workflows.”

The new Total War remaster has tons of poorly AI upscaling and no AI disclosure on Steam. Reviews are bad which is both expected and justified.

SEGA used to have strict no AI policy last year, then allowed AI just a few months ago. Were they that desperate? Was the game updated in such a short term?

What's funny though is that a lot of people are mad not because it is AI, but because of how bad of AI it is: wrong number of fingers, mashed up joints, loss of details, and such. That's literally "Will Smith eating pasta" level of AI.

Yuri anime and manga event has been cancelled because its founders used AI art for promotional materials and all major artists cancelled their booths.

Apparently: one of organizers and a few freelancers generated some awkward and hideous promotional banners and the original founders were too busy with business part to check anything.

Our condolences to all the yuri fans out there...

The issue with AI slop on Next Fest goes beyond "don't look at it", a lot of users simply stopped looking at Next Fest at all. And during their "random" first 48 hours good games stopped getting their views by day 2.

Same goes with social media posts, promotional materials of brands and online-guru, it goes to waste.
