Context: every major tech company posted this, including NVIDIA.

Good side: it's most likely ARM improvements + new chips and new compete devices (for a huge price). The rumors saying that the flagship model (similar to Ryzen AI395+) will be in devices priced over $5000.

Will see...

Yep, the most fundamental change all IT giants were teasing for the last few weeks is indeed the ARM based NVIDIA Spark platform. They picked the experience from servers and reapplied on laptops.

We're talking about "Indiana Jones is running at over 100 FPS at 1440p on a battery" level of performance.

In addition to the flagship model, cheaper and smaller versions will come out over the next year to fill medium-budget niches.

IMO: cool stuff on paper, will see if it's good IRL. The 5070 level of graphical performance with huge combined memory is a great combination.

In addition to that, AMD decided to screw NVIDIA over by releasing their second generation "Max" system, called AI Max 400 (Gorgon Halo). It will power the best handhelds, laptops, and compact computers.

1. It's more powerful than the best model from NVIDIA (which they just announced).

2. It's x86 = no compatibility issues nor overhead, compared to ARM CPUs from NV.

3. Up to 192GB of unified memory and up to 160GB of that can be used by the GPU. NVIDIA only managed to make 128GB of unified memory.

Overall it will replace Strix Halo lineup and will beat the crap out of anything in both AI and gaming.

Linux improves the RISC-V and MIPS architectures support in 7.1 and the work continues.

Canonical also woke up and discussed several improvements to make RISC more friendly for big clients and grids of servers via RVA23 that supports Hypervisor and Vectors.
