💬 I cannot thank you enough for this opportunity to attend this fantastic event. We have gathered here today to see off these courageous people – men and women – who will participate in this race along the oldest road that tied together our entire vast continent, Eurasia, linking regions, people and destinies, traditions, cultures, languages, and religions.
The fact that today Kazan is hosting the thirteenth edition of this rally shows how important it is for our neighbours and everyone who lives on this vast continent, to feel involved in a common cause and destiny. It is especially gratifying to be connected through sports, which must be outside politics, no matter how hard major sports officials try to politicise it, and which brings people together through a natural feeling of fair competition.
