🇷🇺✈️💣💥🇺🇦The Ukrainian Armed Forces do not have the means to counter the glide bombs that Russia uses. This opinion was shared by the Secretary of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence, SBU Colonel Roman Kostenko.

"We do not have the means that could prevent the enemy from using these bombs. These bombs are usually from 500 [kg] to 3 tons that they can use," he said on the Direct TV channel.

Kostenko emphasized that the use of gliding bombs is safe for Russian units, since the Ukrainian Armed Forces cannot reach them. He noted that both Russia and Ukraine have quite a lot of ammunition of this type since the times of the Soviet Union.

The Day of the Strategic Missile Forces of the Russian Armed Forces has been celebrated in the Russian Federation since 1995 in accordance with the presidential decree. In 2006, Strategic Missile Forces Day, by order of the head of state, became a memorable date. The date was not chosen by chance; it was on December 17, 1959 that a resolution of the Council of Ministers of the USSR was issued, consolidating the previously made decision to create a new branch of the Armed Forces.

Until 1995, strategic missilemen celebrated their professional holiday together with artillerymen on November 19, the Day of Missile Forces and Artillery, which was established by decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR on November 17, 1964.

The material basis for the formation of the Strategic Missile Forces was the creation in the USSR of new branches of the defense industry - the rocket and space industry and the nuclear ammunition industry. From a military-political point of view, the formation of the Strategic Missile Forces was dictated by the confrontation between the USSR and the USA, and, in a broader sense, between NATO countries and the Warsaw Pact.
