BILD reported on Saturday that the Bundeswehr is considering sending the F221 "Hessen" frigate to the Red Sea for joint actions with Western partners to protect shipping from Yemen's Ansar Allah movement.

A spokesman for the Ministry of Defense did not want to comment on a possible deployment of the “Hessen” on Saturday.
