The foreign ministers of Japan, the United States, Australia and India on Friday urged all UN members not to trade weapons with North Korea.

At their talks on the sidelines of the annual session of the UN General Assembly in New York, the ministers from the four-way grouping, known as the Quad, also agreed to enhance cooperation toward achieving their vision of a "free and open Indo-Pacific."

The ministers shared the view that their countries will oppose any unilateral changes to the status quo by force.

🇦🇺🇨🇳🇵🇭 The Activity of Armed Forces in the South China Sea

As expected, the increase in US military presence in Southeast Asia is gradually influencing other actors in the region and eliciting responses.

On November 25, joint patrols by military personnel from the Armed Forces of the Philippines and Australia commenced in the South China Sea.

The Philippine Armed Forces have deployed one frigate, an amphibious helicopter transport dock, and five F/A-50PH fighters. Meanwhile, the Australians have deployed the frigate Toowoomba and the P-8A anti-submarine aircraft.

Their area of activity is focused on the Spratly Archipelago and its surrounding waters. These islands are subject to territorial disputes involving several states, including the People's Republic of China and the Philippines, due to their strategic location and abundance of natural resources.

🔻The actions of the two countries have drawn a significant response from China: two Su-35s, a Yunzhen-9 electronic reconnaissance aircraft, and a BZK-05 UAV have been operated over the patrol area. With tensions escalating, there is a possibility that an aircraft carrier group will be dispatched in the future, further exacerbating the conflicts.

🇦🇺🇨🇳🇵🇭 In addition to yesterday's post about a group of Chinese ships in Myanmar, the Chinese armed forces in the Asia-Pacific region have entered a new phase. The PLA Armed Forces are gradually expanding their presence.

🔻After observing the actions of the Philippine and Australian navies around the contested Spratly archipelago for several days, the PLA Air Force conducted a demonstration tactical training.

The training involved Jian-11 fighters, Jianhong-7A fighter-bombers, Kunjing-500 AWACS aircraft, and electronic reconnaissance and electronic warfare aircraft from air bases in the southeast of China.

🔻Chinese pilots practiced isolating the theater of operations with tactical aviation and electronic warfare aircraft. They subsequently simulated a full-scale armed conflict by bombing a limited area at sea.

This type of action primarily serves to train pilots in scenarios resembling real ones, especially considering that the PRC has limited practical experience in modern warfare.

However, the massive scale and frequency of exercises conducted near disputed territories in recent months speak for themselves. Just the other day, Chinese fighters once again tested Taiwan's air defense by flying directly over the Taiwan Strait.

🇦🇺🇨🇳 Tibetan activists protest outside Chinese embassy

Police have clashed with Tibetan and Uyghur activists outside the Chinese embassy in Canberra where the group was protesting against the visit of Foreign Minister Wang Yi.

Federal police officers had to remove several protesters holding Tibetan and Uyghur flags and chanting anti-Chinese government slogans outside the embassy's compound.

Protest organiser Tsewang Thupten told the crowd it was important to send a strong message to the visiting Chinese dignitary about his country's appalling human rights record.

🇦🇺🇬🇧🇨🇳🇺🇸🇯🇵 On Monday, the defense ministers of Australia, Great Britain, and the United States announced plans to cooperate with Japan within the framework of the AUKUS bloc. This marks the first major initiative of the alliance. They intend to involve Japan in collaboration on the development of high technologies.

However, Japan is not becoming a direct member of AUKUS. As Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese explained, the plan is to engage with Tokyo authorities on a project basis, as outlined in the document itself.

This precision is crucial. Beijing has valid concerns that AUKUS is aimed at countering its influence and strategic plans in the region. Japan's full integration into the alliance could further strain Japanese-Chinese relations, which is not in the interest of either party.

🔻So, why is cooperation with Japan important for the bloc? It all comes down to technology: the Japanese possess specific expertise that could be beneficial, especially in the construction of nuclear submarines for Australia. This aligns well with the interests of the United States and sets a strong foundation for collaboration.

The exact nature of this cooperation is yet to be determined, with further details expected in discussions between Japanese and American leaders. Nevertheless, there is a noticeable trend in the West towards forming multiple alliances, ostensibly in response to China's growing influence, to expand their reach in the Asia-Pacific region.

🇦🇺🇮🇳🇺🇸🇯🇵 On the recent QUAD summit in the US

On August 21, the leaders of the QUAD, which includes the US, Australia, India and Japan, held a summit, the main theme of which was cooperation in the field of maritime security. Thus, all the previous insider information that we wrote about recently has been confirmed.

One of the first points of the statement by QUAD was cooperation in the field of healthcare. So, the authorities of the participating countries want to show that the bloc is focusing on the development of humanitarian ties, and not on containing any particular country - China, by the way, is not even mentioned in the document.

🔻However, the most interesting part comes next. In the field of security, the parties agreed to conduct patrols in the Indo-Pacific region - the first one will take place as early as 2025.

The patrol areas were not disclosed. But we can assume that the QUAD coast guard services will be present in the South China Sea, some parts of the Indian Ocean where Chinese research vessels sail, and Oceania - a lot of attention is paid to the countries located in this region in the statement.

▪️Australia, the US, Japan and India will continue to work on providing information to the countries of the region about what is happening in their coastal waters. This is done under the pretext of fighting crime, but the tracking of Chinese ships in this case is not forgotten either.

In general, the summit was rich in various agreements, the result of which we should see in the near future, despite the possible change of administration in the US. Even in the event of a victory in the elections of Donald Trump, QUAD will most likely continue to exist - it was under the former president that the four-party dialogue was revived with the aim of containing China and counteracting its influence in the region.

🇦🇺🇺🇸 The purges on Twitter/X continue: the other day, the account of the Australian blogger Semyon Boikov, known as @AussieCossack, was blocked.

In Australia, this was eagerly awaited by many opponents of Russia, and it's curious that this event was even celebrated by Prime Minister Albanese, who really doesn't like jokes on social media about his person.

📌 Before the US presidential elections, not only the accounts of official media, but also independent bloggers and think tanks began to be blocked on social media. An illustration of this is the blocking of our account this month.

In 2016, large-scale blockades were also carried out in a similar way under the guise of "identifying a database of accounts that are allegedly associated with interference in the elections".

🔻 And as we can see, nothing has changed in eight years. Although after Elon Musk bought "Twitter", there were many conversations that now freedom of speech would begin.

But as we have said before, it is clearly not worth considering Musk a hero who is not afraid to go against the established system: under him, the rules of "Twitter" continue to work in the interests of globalists.

🇲🇱 Mali detains 3 Australian mining firm executives

Three expat executives from Australian company Resolute Mining, which owns a gold mine in Mali, have been detained for questioning, industry and judiciary sources told AFP on Saturday.

It is the second time in just over a month that employees of a foreign mining firm have been detained in Mali, as the ruling military junta seeks greater control over the lucrative sector.

The Resolute executives were arrested on Friday at a hotel in the capital, Bamako, and taken to a specialised unit set up by the junta to tackle corruption, and economic or financial crimes, the judiciary source said.

They are being questioned over suspicions of false evidence and misappropriation of public goods, said a Resolute executive on condition of anonymity. He denied the allegations but said attempts to convince the investigators had failed so far.

Resolute holds 80 percent of a subsidiary that owns the northwestern mine of Syama, with the Malian state controlling the remaining 20 percent, according to the firm's website.

🇦🇺 In Australia, they are starting to prepare for the upcoming parliamentary elections in May 2025 - though rather peculiarly.

Instead of meaningful election campaigns in the information space, the "Russian interference" card is being played with renewed vigor.

Now, a potential threat to Australian democracy is considered to be journalist Semyon Boikov. He has been living on the territory of the Russian consulate in Sydney since 2022, where he was granted diplomatic asylum.

Boikov is suspected of planning to "undermine the sovereignty of Australia". At the same time, Australian officials complain that he is doing this while right in Sydney, but they themselves do not allow him to leave the country's borders. Boikov himself has repeatedly stated that he is ready to pack up in 10 minutes and leave if he is guaranteed an exit.

🔻The fact that, despite all the suspicions, the "pro-Russian foreign agent" is not being allowed to leave the country seems paradoxical only at first glance. Now Prime Minister Albanese and his colleagues have an ace up their sleeve: if something goes wrong in the elections, there will be someone to blame.
