🇮🇱🇵🇸 Escalation in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict zone
Chronicle of events for April 3, 2024
In the southern part of Gaza Strip, local IDF operations persist in Khan Yunis, with Israeli artillery active in densely populated central areas.
Local skirmishes have been reported in Gaza and its vicinity, with Palestinian factions launching a mortar attack on IDF positions in the At-Tuffa area.
Police raids are ongoing in the West Bank. Detentions are occurring across all provinces of the autonomy, often resulting in clashes. Particularly intense skirmishes were observed this time in Tubas.
The IDF continues to engage with Hezbollah along the border with Lebanon. Consequently, air defense alarms have sounded in numerous localities in northern Israel due to missile intrusions.
Meanwhile, the Israeli army has commenced the mobilization of reservists from the air defense forces due to concerns over potential retaliatory strikes from Iran following yesterday's attack on the embassy in Damascus.

🇮🇱🇵🇸 The Israeli army has announced the withdrawal of troops from Khan Yunis. The 98th Division has left the southern Gaza Strip after four months of fighting. Israeli journalists report that the troop withdrawal is unrelated to political disputes. The Israel Defense Forces will continue operations in Khan Yunis, but they will now focus on raiding activities.
❓Many observers of the conflict in the Gaza Strip are wondering: does this decision mean that the operation in Rafah has been canceled?
The answer is no. The withdrawal of troops from Khan Yunis is actually a sign of preparation for the operation. Previously, refugees stranded in the border zone with Egypt had no options due to the significant IDF presence in Khan Yunis, Bani Suheil, and other settlements. Now, masses of people can be redirected from the Egypt border to the northeast.
🔻Therefore, despite local Palestinian factions claiming victory and expulsion of the "occupiers," this indicates they are in the final stages of preparing for the operation in the "Philadelphia Corridor."
By dismantling some of the Hamas infrastructure in Khan Yunis and its surroundings, and weakening the military's firing capabilities, the IDF can now relocate crowds of refugees from Rafah to the now-devastated Khan Yunis. #Israel #Palestine

🇮🇱🇵🇸 Following the withdrawal of Israeli units from Khan Yunis, footage of destruction in various areas of the city began circulating widely in Arab media. This included scenes near the Al-Amal hospital, where the local IDF operation has been ongoing for weeks.
The photos and videos that have surfaced vividly illustrate where Palestinian refugees may have to flee following the start of the Israeli offensive on Rafah. Since early morning, Israeli airstrikes and artillery bombardments have persistently targeted the remaining ruins.
🔻Meanwhile, Israeli media largely focus on the achievements of IDF units, highlighting the reduction of militants’ capacity for shelling and the elimination of Hamas infrastructure in Khan Yunis and surrounding settlements.
However, the statistics paint a clearer picture: while Palestinian forces launched only five attacks from the southern enclave in February and March, militants have carried out six rocket strikes in just the past two days. #Israel #Palestine

🇮🇱🇵🇸 Escalation in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict zone
Chronicle of events for April 8, 2024
After the Israeli forces withdrew from most of the Gaza Strip, IDF units now maintain a presence only at the “crossroads” that separate the northern and central parts of the enclave.
Palestinian media widely circulate footage showing extensive destruction in Khan Yunis, where some refugees may be compelled to go in the event of an IDF offensive on Rafah. However, the situation in the southern part of the Gaza Strip remains relatively unchanged.
In the West Bank, another series of Israeli raids targeted several settlements. The most intense clashes took place in Tulkarm, Nablus, and Hebron. Additionally, a Palestinian woman suspected of attempting a terrorist attack was killed at the Tayasir checkpoint.
There was a continuation of the usual skirmishes on the Lebanese-Israeli border, albeit to a lesser extent than the previous day. Meanwhile, Israeli forces carried out operations in Al-Sultaniya, resulting in the deaths of three fighters from the Lebanese group, including one of the Hezbollah commanders.
