Battle for Kherson: the situation on the Olginsky site
by the end of September 4, 2022

At 16:00 Moscow time, units of the Russian Airborne Forces launched a counteroffensive against the lost positions in Vysokopolie, intending to straighten out the situation at the front and level the front line.

At 19.00 Moscow time, a laconic entry appeared in the private channel of Ukrainian journalist Anatoly Shariy: “They took the highlands. The highlands have been surrendered." Shariy did not provide any other comments, but if we take into account the information about the beginning of the counteroffensive, this leads to the idea of the success of the counterattack.

At the moment, there is no information from our sources from this site: unfortunately, there are extremely big problems with communication near Andreevka, near Sukhy Stavk, and in the area of Olgin and Vysokopole.

In any case, for now, we proceed from the best and believe that the counterattack was successful, and the Russian Airborne Forces managed to regain control over the central part of the settlement.

Soldiers of the 7th Airborne Assault Division of the Russian Airborne Forces today observed the destruction of another Ukrainian "Rook" in the air north of Posad-Pokrovsky on the Kherson-Nikolaev highway.

This is the third Su-25 of the Ukrainian Air Force shot down on this sector of the front in the second day. Another "Rook" yesterday flew off lined.

The news was shared with the servicemen of the 59th ombr of the Armed Forces of Ukraine captured the day before. In response, they sighed sadly and commemorated the Ukrainian captain Vadim Balyuk with the call sign “Balu” with a kind word. The company commander promised his soldiers on August 29 that they would be in Kherson in a week.

Basically, everything worked out that way. Only Ukrainian soldiers got there as prisoners of war.

⚡️🇷🇺🇺🇦💥 Battle for #Kherson - AFU Position on the #Andreevka Sector defeated by Fire⚡️

After the Russian Forces retreated from Davydov Brod in the #Nikolaev - #Berislav direction, the enemy was stopped at the #Bruskinskoye - #Pyatikhatki line.

At one of the erected strongholds, the AFU rotated personnel and delivered there. A drone operator noticed the activitis of the Ukrainian militants. He tracked their movements and opened the position.

Russian artillery struck the identified enemy position in the wooded area. Some of the shells fell close to the cover, but another hit the target.

After the shelling, fire broke out in the AFU position, followed by the detonation of the ammunition stored there. The Ukrainian militants were forced to abandon the stronghold and retreat to the rear.

⚡️🇷🇺🇺🇦💡 Massive Strike on #Ukraine's Infrastructure on 16 Dec 2022 - what is known by 12:00⚡️

The RF Armed Forces have launched another massive missile strike on targets across #Ukraine.

▪️ In Kiev, CHPP-5, CHPP-6 and Darnitskaya CHPP were hit again. The underground was stopped, electricity was partially lost and water supply stopped.

▪️ #Zaporozhye region was hit by at least 12 strikes, local authorities said. In occupied #Zaporozhye, electricity and water were partially lost.

The engine room of the #Dnipro HPP was hit.

▪️ In #Kharkov, ground transport and the metro have come to a complete halt. There are disruptions in mobile communications. Partially there is no light and water. 7 strikes have hit the regional centre and 3 in the region.

#Zalyutino 330kV substation and #Kharkov 330kV PS were most likely hit. The previous day, the RF struck at CHPP-5. However, CHPP-3, which supplies power to all industrial facilities, remained unharmed.

Judging by the reports of the strike in the #Chuguev district, the fire attack might have been on CHPP-2 Eskhar.

▪️ Light went out in #Poltava and the Poltava region. The #Kremenchuk 330kV PS is likely been hit again. The #Mirgorod 330kV PS is also suspected of being hit.

▪️ In #Dnipropetrovsk region, there were explosions in #Kamenskoye and the regional centre. #Prydniprovska TPP is likely been hit again - traffic on Yuzhny Bridge opposite the TPP is blocked. The Prometey 330kV PS in #Kamenskoye is suspected been hit.

Explosions also occurred in #Pavlograd (likely the 330kV Pavlograd PS). Boiler houses and water supply are suspended in the city.

In #KrivoyRog, locals reported an explosion. Water and light were lost in the city. We already wrote that the Krivoy Rog TPP was shut down 1 1/2 month ago. Therefore, it is likely that either the Kirovskaya 330kV or Yuzhnaya 330kV PS was hit. In terms of logic, the Kirovskaya 330kV PS is most likely been hit - it supplies the water supply system.

▪️ There was a blackout in the #Cherkasy region. This could have been caused by both, the Polanyi 330kV PS being hit and the entire 330kV line along the Dnipro River being de-energised.

▪️ In #Kirovograd region, the Ukrainka 330kV PS was most likely hit. Pumping stations are shut down and power is lost. Several railroad sections are de-energized.

But the fact that the entire oblast is switched off could indicate that the 330kV switchgear of the Southern Ukraine NPP is down.

▪️ There are strikes in #Nikolaev and the region. Locals report power outages.

▪️ There are explosions in the #Ternopil region. There is only one 330kV Ternopil PS in the entire region.

▪️ In #Vinnitsa, shocks were also recorded. The Vinnitsa 330kV PS may have been hit.

▪️ An infrastructure facility in the #Odessa region has been hit. Power is partially lost in the regional centre.

▪️ In #Zhytomyr region, the Lesnaya 330kV PS in Korosten is affected. The PS bypassed the #Chernobyl NPP switchyard and supplied power to #Kiev from the #Rivne and Khmelnytskyi NPPs.

▪️ In the #Volyn, #Lvov, #Rivne, #Sumy and #Kherson regions, emergency blackouts occurred.

This is a direct consequence of the strikes in other regions. The same #Sumy is dependent on #Kremenchuk and #Kiev. And due to strikes on the Lesnaya 330kV PS, the Rivne NPP reactors could have shut down.

🩸Although the missile strike cannot be called the most massive in recent months, the number of missiles fired and the geography of targets is still impressive.

This confirms the systematic nature of the firing.

A new story has emerged in the Ukrainian infofield. People in chat rooms convince each other that the power was cut off before the strikes in order to mislead the enemy. Some even write that PPs are stopped on purpose for the duration of the raid.

There is no practical sense to be gained from such measures. But the Ukrainians believe such fables and convinces one another that the strikes by the RF are ineffective.

And this is not the case!

Hospital? Do hospitals explode like this?
Destruction of the AFU ammunition depot in Ochakov

Coordinates: 46.6016944, 31.5500000

The video from the place of arrival shows a fire, after which a powerful explosion thundered. According to some reports, along with the ammunition depot, the radar station of the air defense complex was also destroyed.

According to local sources, the sound of the detonation of ammunition was so strong that it was heard in Nikolaev and even settlements in the Kherson region.

❗️🇷🇺🇺🇦 Kherson direction
situation by the end of June 14, 2023

According to the official authorities, the water from the Dnieper will return to its normal course by June 20. But the flooded areas have yet to bounce back.

▪️ At the suggestion of the Ukrainian authorities of the information and psychological warfare, a scenario divorced from reality of the offensive of Ukrainian formations deep into the Kherson region and the borders of Crimea is spreading.

According to the enemy’s plan, a crossing will be built through the swampy area for the transfer of a large-scale shock fist, which should occupy Novaya Kakhovka, and later deliver dissecting blows through Chaplinka to Armyansk and Melitopol.

Such a scenario, given the unsuitability of the territories on the left bank of the Dnieper, looks implausible.

▪️ Most likely, such messages are spread in order to disguise the direction of the transfer of reinforcements: recently three brigades were transferred from Nikolaev to the Donbass. In addition, informants from the field report a constant transfer of equipment to the east.

🔻The scenario of a landing operation in the Kakhovka Reservoir is much more likely: after the shallowing of the basin, mine-explosive barriers were damaged, so the option of dropping landing groups in this area is potentially possible.

❗️🇷🇺🇺🇦 ✈️ Regarding the missile strike on Feodosia

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the night launch of Storm Shadow cruise missiles in Feodosia resulted in damage to the Novocherkassk large landing ship. You can find more information here.

▪️ Contrary to the circulating statements on the Internet about the mass launch of "decoy missiles," this is not the case. There was a single launch from Odessa on the afternoon of December 26. However, Ukrainian formations in Crimea were studying the operation of air defense and electronic warfare systems throughout December, which suggests that preparations were made for a targeted strike.

▪️ Ukrainian Su-24Ms took off from Starokonstantinov (where the Russian Aerospace Forces are constantly operating) around 1 am and flew east.

▪️ In the Nikolaev region, planes patrolled in the air for about half an hour before launching from the outskirts of Snigirevka.

▪️ At the moment of launch, the Su-24M was detected by Russian radars, which transmitted target designation to air defense systems. These systems fired anti-aircraft missiles at the Su-24Ms in the Oktyabrsky area. The effectiveness of the destruction remains uncertain, as two Su-24Ms took off from Kanatovo shortly after.

🔻If the anti-aircraft gunners missed, the Ukrainian pilots landed at Kanatovo to refuel and subsequently flew back. They regularly perform such maneuvers, periodically changing the jumping area.

❗️The fact that the port of Feodosia was hit raises questions about possible negligence on the part of the Black Sea Fleet. Considering the previous situation with the small missile ship "Askold" in Kerch, it would not be surprising if certain officials neglected basic security measures.

There are enough pro-Ukrainian citizens in Crimea. The bay in Feodosia is easily visible from nearby residential buildings, so the Armed Forces of Ukraine probably did not have any problems with guidance (and it is still possible to address them, at least partially).

You can find a high-resolution map here and an English version here.
