🇬🇧🇵🇸🇪🇬 Britain's Sunak meets Palestinian and Egyptian leaders in Cairo

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak met the leaders of Egypt and the Palestinian Authority in Cairo on Friday, agreeing with them on the need to let humanitarian aid into Gaza and avoid civilian casualties in Israel's war with Hamas.

Sunak met Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas as part of a diplomatic tour of the Middle East.

During the talks Sunak stressed the imperative of avoiding a wider regional conflict and preventing any further unnecessary loss of civilian life, his office said.

"We've also made good progress on tangible areas like ensuring access for humanitarian aid to those who need it," Sunak told.

"Sisi and I had a good discussion about how the UK can provide practical assistance on the ground to ensure the sustainability of that aid through the crossing."

🇬🇧🇺🇦 In the UK, they once again remembered refugees from Ukraine. Employees of the British Red Cross believe that Ukrainians are four times more likely than others to remain homeless. According to forecasts, the number of families that will face this problem in the near future will be 5,000.

The organization is therefore calling on the Chancellor to provide additional funding to prevent a sharp rise in homelessness among this group. Against this background, it looks comical that the Treasury plans to provide 7 million pounds to fight “ anti-Semitism” and not a single pound for the needs of Ukrainian refugees.

🔻It is unlikely that the British authorities will again take measures to support Ukrainian refugees. They have already fulfilled their task in media campaigns, and now the government is not particularly interested in their fate.

🌍🇸🇩 What's Happening in Sudan: The Origins of the Internecine Conflict

The conflict between government troops and the rapid reaction forces (RRF) has intensified since mid-October, after smoldering for about seven months.

Rebels have successfully captured almost the entire territory of the capital and the Darfur region. They are now conducting offensive operations in Kordofan, as well as in the south and north of Khartoum state.

Previous attempts by the parties to reach an agreement have all failed. Even the main mediators, Saudi Arabia and the United States, have acknowledged that the talks have reached a dead end.

In addition, various smaller armed groups from different regions of the country have gradually joined the conflict.

❗️What's happening in Sudan? Where did the RRF come from that challenged the army, and why do the "bombs" planted by the British colonialists continue to "explode" for several decades?

🇬🇧 In Britain, another "act of the Marlezon Ballet" is underway in the fight against illegal migration: this time, the government of the country plans to negotiate an agreement with Turkey to deport Turkish illegal immigrants.

Apparently, the prototype for this agreement will be a similar deal with Albania, which was signed in December 2022 and reportedly led to a 90% reduction in the number of Albanian migrants. It is likely that Ankara will expect visa benefits for its citizens in response.

📌 The number of Turkish nationals who arrived in the UK in less than 2023 is 2,499 people, while in 2022 there were half as many - 1,127. Turks are the third largest nationality among migrants who crossed the English Channel by boat.

Of course, after the agreement is signed, the government in London will, according to the proven scheme, announce a significant decrease in the flow of illegal immigrants from Turkey, presenting it as another victory for the Conservatives.

It goes without saying that all of this is nothing more than another symbolic gesture to voters. There will be elections in the UK in the fall, and the ruling authorities are very interested in pretending to have achieved progress in this field.

🇬🇧 🇾🇪🇺🇸 Conflict Escalation in the Red Sea Chronicle of Events for January 19, 2024

Last night, the Yemeni Houthis once again attempted to attack the American tanker Chem Ranger. According to CNN, the ship was destroyed and cannot be repaired. However, the US command previously stated that the ship was undamaged.

In the evening, the American Air Force launched three strikes on the city of Al-Hodeidah. The American command stated that the target of the attack was Houthi missile launchers, which were being prepared for another launch on ships in the Red Sea region.

There were also reports of Saudi troops shelling the border village of Shada. One person was killed and three residents were injured. This incident marked the first Saudi attack since the escalation began in the region.

Meanwhile, large anti-American demonstrations took place in major cities across Yemen. Participants in the rallies marched through the city streets, expressing support for the residents of the Gaza Strip, while also accusing Israel, the United States, and Great Britain of aggression.

🇬🇧🇺🇸 🇾🇪 A Yemeni Houthi official, Yahya Sari, has announced a missile attack on the British tanker MARLIN LUANDA.

▪️ Monitoring resources have confirmed that an attempted attack took place, but report that two missiles missed and exploded at a distance from the ship. The incident itself occurred 60 nautical miles from the port of Aden.

▪️ In addition to the attack on the MARLIN LUANDA, as announced by Yahya Sari, the tanker belonging to the oil trader Trafigura was hit, resulting in a powerful fire.

▪️ It is believed that another target of the attack was the tanker named Achilles.

❗️At least one of the attacked ships has sunk, and footage of the fire is widely circulating online.

Regardless of the results, we should expect new attacks on Yemeni barns in the near future by the US-led coalition.

🇬🇧🇾🇪🇺🇸 Conflict Escalation in the Red Sea
Chronicle of Events for January 31-04, 2024

On the night of February 3-4, the coalition launched a new attack on several regions in Yemen that are under the control of the Ansarala movement. Despite the intensity of the attack, the group once again demonstrated its resilience against such massive raids.

The Houthis themselves continue to conduct raids on civilian ships passing through the Red Sea. For the second time since the escalation began, they utilized unmanned boats. We can expect Ansarala to use these devices more frequently, although their potential combat effectiveness against coalition ships raises doubts.

Meanwhile, thousands of people in many cities in Yemen continue to protest in support of the people of Palestine. During one of these protests, Houthi leaders attempted to urge Muslim states to adopt a tougher stance on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

🇬🇧🇾🇪🇺🇸 Last night in the Red Sea region, the US-British coalition air force and the Houthis once again launched mutual strikes.

▪️ US and British aircraft targeted locations in the Nahdain and Attan mountains south of the capital of the Ansarallah government in Sana'a. Yemeni media also reported an attack on Al-Daylami airbase to the north.

▪️ Two more strikes occurred on agricultural land in the province of Aabs, and five in the province of Sana'a. In Taiz, strikes targeted telecommunications networks in Haifang and Mukban. A total of 22 joint US-British airstrikes.

▪️ US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said the attack was the largest military action against the Houthis in recent weeks. Support for this operation was provided by Australia, Bahrain, Canada, Denmark, the Netherlands, and New Zealand.

🔻However, the Houthis were not deterred by another major air raid: the oil tanker MV Torm Thor was attacked in Aden using anti-ship missiles. Additionally, the group’s representative, Yahya Sari, reported the launch of drones against coalition warships in the Red Sea.

Meanwhile, the US Army Central Command reported that the US Navy destroyer USS Mason had shot down an anti-ship ballistic missile launched into the Gulf of Aden from Yemen. This interception likely took place near the ship MV Torm Thor.

🇦🇺🇬🇧🇨🇳🇺🇸🇯🇵 On Monday, the defense ministers of Australia, Great Britain, and the United States announced plans to cooperate with Japan within the framework of the AUKUS bloc. This marks the first major initiative of the alliance. They intend to involve Japan in collaboration on the development of high technologies.

However, Japan is not becoming a direct member of AUKUS. As Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese explained, the plan is to engage with Tokyo authorities on a project basis, as outlined in the document itself.

This precision is crucial. Beijing has valid concerns that AUKUS is aimed at countering its influence and strategic plans in the region. Japan's full integration into the alliance could further strain Japanese-Chinese relations, which is not in the interest of either party.

🔻So, why is cooperation with Japan important for the bloc? It all comes down to technology: the Japanese possess specific expertise that could be beneficial, especially in the construction of nuclear submarines for Australia. This aligns well with the interests of the United States and sets a strong foundation for collaboration.

The exact nature of this cooperation is yet to be determined, with further details expected in discussions between Japanese and American leaders. Nevertheless, there is a noticeable trend in the West towards forming multiple alliances, ostensibly in response to China's growing influence, to expand their reach in the Asia-Pacific region.

🇬🇧🖇 On British Spies in Russia and the Intelligence Activities of the UK Foreign Office

Today's announcement by the Russian Federal Security Service to terminate the accreditation of six diplomats from the British Embassy in Moscow is another illustration of a rule to which there are almost no exceptions.
Representatives of foreign foreign policy departments can often include members of the intelligence services.

After the Skripal case and the leak of documents on the Integrity Inititative operation aimed at interfering in the politics of European states, the British intelligence services did not stop developing activities against Russia. Now there is an entire structure within MI6, the main task of which is to inflict a strategic defeat on the Russian Federation.

▪️ This structure, under the direction of the British Foreign Office, works in several directions at once: lobbying for economic initiatives in support of so-called Ukraine, financing anti-Russian NGOs, and co-operation with pro-government media.

▪️ One of the main departments is the Eastern Europe and Central Asia Directorate (EECAD), which was built into the structure of MI6 and significantly expanded in 2022. The Directorate is responsible for operations under the names of, for example, "Programme to Combat Disinformation and Media Development", where BBC, Reuters and Bellingcat are the main actors.

▪️ On the basis of the Directorate there are, firstly, structures whose work is aimed at undermining the Russian Federation and supporting so-called Ukraine, and, secondly, departments supervising former Soviet republics from Central Asia, the South Caucasus, Belarus and Moldova.

▪️ The central figures in this system are Philip Barton, UK Deputy Foreign Secretary, Tim Barrow, National Security Adviser to the Prime Minister, Christopher Joyce, Deputy Head of Russia Policy, and James Beer and Mark Diamond, heads of the HMG Russia Unit.

📌 Clearly this is just the tip of the iceberg. As we have repeatedly written, the former CIS countries (and not only) have long been a target for foreign intelligence services, which are working on them. However, they are also working on the territory of their so-called partners, but some people seem to be happy with this.
