The Institute for Development and Diplomacy (IDD) was established in 2022 at ADA Universit to deepen engagement and outreach with expert, research, and policymaking communities across the globe.

Today, we hosted a delegation from the NATO Defense College, led by Lieutenant General Max A.L.T. Nielsen.
The delegation engaged in insightful discussions and presentations covering Azerbaijan’s foreign policy, the regional security environment, key transitional and international energy projects, and the country’s contributions to global security.
Hikmat Hajiyev, Head of the Department of Foreign Policy Affairs at the Presidential Administration 🇦🇿, provided a comprehensive overview of Azerbaijan’s foreign policy, offering insights into regional outlooks and current trends.
🔉In autumn 2024, study trips were organized under the EU-funded Erasmus+ CBHE project, “European Energy Efficiency towards Mutually Reinforcing Partnership with Georgia, Azerbaijan, and Ukraine” (3E-Partnership).
✔️The trips aimed to enhance knowledge exchange and expertise in designing academic programs on energy efficiency, diversification of energy sources, and clean energy production.
The visits took place at KU Leuven (Belgium), Politecnico di Milano (Italy), and the University of A Coruña (Spain).
ADA University and its Institute for Development and Diplomacy (IDD) were represented by Nargiz Ismayilova, Head of Centre of Excellence in EU Studies, Inara Yagubova and Hajar Huseynova, IDD’s Senior Research Fellows, as well as Nargiz Heydarova and Dr. Amin Babazade, ADA University faculty members.

🇦🇿President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, has awarded a certificate to ADA University Vice Rector Fariz Ismailzade, and team members Sabina Amirova, Shabnam Maharramova, Sabina Ahmadova, Tural Abbasov, and students Shahhuseyn Mammadov and Aykhan Mammadov.
They awarded in recognition of their active participation in the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP29) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, held in Baku from November 11-22, 2024.
