Microsoft says Iranian hackers tried to hack the accounts of high-ranking U.S. officials.

“Over the past several months, we have seen the emergence of significant influence activity by Iranian actors,” the report states. “Iranian cyber-enabled influence operations have been a consistent feature of at least the last three U.S. election cycles. Iran’s operations have been notable and distinguishable from Russian campaigns for appearing later in the election season and employing cyberattacks more geared toward election conduct than swaying voters.”

Clint Watts, general manager of the Microsoft center, said in a blog post:

“They’ve laid the groundwork for influence campaigns on trending election-related topics and have begun to activate these campaigns in an apparent effort to stir up controversy or sway voters—especially in swing states.”

“They’ve launched operations that Microsoft assesses are designed to gain intelligence on political campaigns and help enable them to influence elections in the future.”

⭕️ Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor: The Israeli occupation army's intensified targeting of schools used as shelters for displaced persons is a systematic policy of forced displacement and emptying Gaza City.

The escalation against schools coincides with the issuance of illegal forced evacuation orders from the north of Gaza to the south as part of a systematic policy to expel residents and deprive them of any stability for reasons that appear to be retaliatory.

We documented the direct bombing of 9 schools used as shelters for thousands of displaced persons in Gaza City by Israeli aircraft over eight days, destroying them over the heads of those inside.

These attacks resulted in the martyrdom of 79 Palestinians and the injury of 143 others, most of whom were children and women, and the loss of other numbers under the rubble, and it is impossible to retrieve them due to the lack of appropriate equipment for rescue teams.

The bombing and destruction of schools over the heads of the displaced persons inside them had no real justification and was devoid of military necessity, although the occupation army always tries to justify it by targeting a military or political activist without proving the validity of this claim.

Our initial investigations indicate that the occupation deliberately destroyed the remaining shelters to deprive Palestinians of the few remaining places to shelter them after the systematic destruction of homes and shelters, including schools and public facilities.

Following the methodology of the Israeli bombing indicates the existence of a clear policy aimed at depriving the entire Gaza Strip of security and depriving civilians of shelter or stability, even momentarily, by focusing on targeting shelters, including those located in UNRWA schools.

The repeated bombing of displacement and shelter centers on the heads of the displaced people inside them and targeting areas declared as humanitarian areas is an insistence on imposing forced displacement and destroying all the basic necessities of life for the people of Gaza.

Civilians in the Gaza Strip are paying the price of Israeli military attacks that grossly violate the rules of international humanitarian law, especially the principles of distinction, proportionality and military necessity.

We call on all states to impose effective sanctions on "Israel" and to stop all forms of political, financial and military support and cooperation provided to it, including the immediate cessation of arms transfers to it.
