Tale of Brotherhood - Saleh and Asim Barghouthi

Sons of a respected leader of Hamas in the West Bank, father of prisoners & martyrs, Saleh Omar "Abu Asif" al-Barghouthi.

Asem and Saleh planned a heroic operation for a long time, monitored neighboring settlements, and finally set the date on 9th December 2018.

Saleh was supposed to drive the car and Asem would shoot from the backseat. Upon arrival to "Ofra" settlement, Asem emptied the magazine on the group of soldiers, however he was also injured in the shootout.

They were supposed to withdraw according to plan, but Saleh made decision to go to pharmacy instead, in order to save Asem's life. In consequence, special Zionist unit managed to track down and assaassinate Saleh 3 days after the operation.

Asem managed to withdraw, but he was now motivated by revenge.

To avenge his brother, he carried out 2 operations...

Firstly he shot at a bus full of settlers, and then went on to attack group of soldiers from "elite" Yamam unit.

He finished off all 4 soldiers from close distance. He seized their weapons and found refuge in home of one of his friends.

He was now on a run from the occupation. According to Israeli source, soldiers from Yamam unit wanted to kill, not arrest him (as a revenge).

Asem said that he saw Prophet Muhammad ﷺ in a dream during that period, who told him that he won’t be martyred even though death will be close to him...

Soldiers arrived, and Asem related that he “could have easily shot the soldiers, but refrained due to presence of children and civilians that could potentially be hurt”. Instead he tried to conceal his identity during investigation

Eventually Shin Bet managed to arrest him, but wanted to keep him alive "for information"

Asem was sentenced to 4 life imprisonments, but God-willing the Tale of Brotherhood is not over yet…
