Following The Telegraph's report claiming "Hezbollah is storing huge quantities of Iranian weapons, missiles, and explosives in Beirut’s main civilian airport," the Air Transport Union in Lebanon (UTA) issued a statement saying that the newspaper claimed so without providing any evidence.

The Union stressed that the aim behind this news is to endanger the airport of Beirut, its staff, and its passengers, all of whom are civilians.

In light of this, it said it holds The Telegraph and those who cite and promote its falsehoods fully responsible for the safety of the workers at the airport.

In a similar vein, the Lebanese caretaker Minister of Public Works and Transport Ali Hamieh denied The Telegraph's claims and affirmed that the sources it quoted are unknown and that it should have contacted the British Department for Transport, which had already visited the airport.
