In recent days, the security establishment drafted a serious warning document to the political echelon - in which it warns that due to the deteriorating economic situation in the Palestinian Authority - there is a fear of a third intifada breaking out in Judea and Samaria, which could turn from a secondary arena into a major arena in the war.

In the document, the security agencies warn that many Palestinians in the West Bank are in a difficult economic reality, due to a lack of sources of income. Finance Minister Smotrich has been refusing for two months to sign the disposal funds to the Authority, workers are not entering Israeli territory and the blockade imposed at the beginning of the war leaves the crossings closed.

This situation, according to the IDF and the Shin Bet, may lead many Palestinians to terrorism, while factors such as Iran pour enormous amounts of money into the territory, thereby recruiting terrorists and encouraging terrorism.

A senior security official tells Gali IDF: "A man who needs to live and is hungry for bread, and the Iranians offer him NIS 1,000 for an attack - he doesn't think twice."

The security system's warning document also includes a number of main recommendations, aimed at easing the Palestinian economy. Among the recommendations, there are also those that directly strengthen the Palestinian public, and not through the PA, with the understanding that it is not possible to take steps that would strengthen the PA, following the steps it takes against Israel in the international arena.

The main recommendations:
A. The opening of the crossings in Yosh on weekends, to allow the entry of Israeli Arabs to shop in Palestinian cities. Every weekend, thousands of Israeli Arab cars can enter, bringing millions into the Palestinian economy. A senior official in the security establishment tells me about this step: "One hour earlier is fine."

B. Experimenting with different models of laborers entering Israel. The security system recommends a model in which, as a first step, several thousand workers will be brought in in a controlled manner, in shuttles that leave the YUS directly to construction sites in Israel, and bring them back to the YUS, including a security check. If the model is successful, it will be expanded.
