Following the Camp David Accords, which normalized relations between Egypt and the Zionist state, the Arab League convened in Iraq and decided to suspend Egypt's membership until it withdrew from the agreement. A few years later, Egypt maintained its commitment to the accords, but instead other Arab countries joined the normalization, including Jordan.
