Al-Aqsa Flood Effect on Arab countries: Lebanon


The events of October 7th and the subsequent genocide in Gaza, which indiscriminately and deliberately targeted civilians regardless of their political or religious affiliations, have undeniably caused rapid changes in the dynamics between sects throughout the Arab world, particularly in the highly diverse political landscape of Lebanon.

In January, Walid Jumblatt, leader of the Druze sect, expressed support for the resistance axis. Recently, in a podcast, he acknowledged that his Druze sect, initially led by his father, had committed significant errors. He admitted that the party had been infiltrated, leading to the recruitment of many of its members by occupying forces during the civil war (the United States and Israel).


We have also seen in Hezbollah's videos, fighters exalting the Blessed Virgin Mary as they launch their rockets toward Zionist targets, a gesture that was celebrated among Christian Lebanese.

In his recent speech mourning his late mother, Nasrallah devoted a significant portion to emphasizing the respect and harmony different religions and sects had for each other before the civil war. He expressed a desire for this close-knit atmosphere to be revived.

The question of whether such tendencies will persist and lead to actual changes in Lebanon and other Arab and Muslim countries remains open. For only time will tell.
