The United States distributed to members of the UN Security Council a draft resolution calling on Hamas to accept the hostage deal proposal. A source familiar with the details said that a vote on the proposed resolution may take place this week, in a move aimed at mobilizing the international community to pressure Hamas to accept the deal.

The proposed resolution was circulated shortly after G7 countries issued a statement of support for Biden's speech.

The resolution welcomes the proposal and calls on Hamas to fully accept it and implement its provisions without delay and without conditions, and stipulates that the rapid implementation of the deal will allow for a ceasefire, the withdrawal of the Israeli army from populated areas, the release of hostages, an increase in the scope of humanitarian aid, the return of basic services and the return of the Palestinians. To the northern Gaza Strip, and in the final section, the Security Council declares its commitment to the vision of two democratic states - Israel and Palestine - living side by side in peace with secure and recognized borders, and stresses the importance of the union between the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.
