“Babak Saleh is a Machine Learning Scientist at AIG Investments, where he develops machine learning based solutions for the problems in the field of financial investments. He graduated with a Ph.D. in computer science at Rutgers University with a focus on computer vision, machine learning, and human perception. Inspired by human visual perception, his thesis proposes computational models for measuring typicality of an image and its applicationsin learning robust visual classifiers. He holds a M.Sc. in Computer Science and a second M.Sc. in Statistics from Rutgers University. He completed his undergraduate studies in Computer Science and Mathematics at Sharif University of Technology in Tehran, Iran. He is the recipient of outstanding student paper award from AAAI 2016, NSF I-Corps award, and multiple travel award from CVPR, ICCV, ICML, and IJCAI. His research has been recognized by major media and press outlets, including NBC News, PBS, New York Times, Washington Post, WIRED, Fast Company and IEEE MultiMedia. ”
