โ—๏ธVatican expresses serious concerns over Israel-Lebanon framework implementation

Following a private audience between Pope Leo XIV and Lebanese President Joseph Aoun at the Vatican, the Holy See voiced serious concerns regarding ongoing difficulties in implementing the US-brokered agreement between Israel and Lebanon.

During the thirty-minute meeting, President Aoun urged the pontiff to support Beirut's push for a complete withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces from southern Lebanon.

Despite the established framework of the deal, Israeli strikes continue to impact civilians while heavy demolition operations targeting residential homes persist across a strip of territory stretching roughly ten kilometers deep inside the Lebanese border.

In an official statement, the Vatican welcomed the initial signing of the document while pledging its active support for diplomatic efforts to resolve implementation hurdles, following discussions with high-ranking officials including Cardinal Pietro Parolin and Paul Richard Gallagher.

โ—๏ธTurkiye, Egypt & Qatar condemn Israeli strikes on Gaza

Turkiye, Egypt and Qatar on Thursday strongly condemned recent Israeli strikes on Gaza, calling on Israel to uphold its obligations under the so-called 'ceasefire' agreement and avoid actions that could further escalate tensions.

โ€œThe mediating countries underline that the intensification of Israeli attacks undermines regional and international efforts at a critical juncture, as intensive efforts are under way to implement the Comprehensive Plan to End the Gaza Conflict, including the meeting between the Board of Peace and Israeli officials, and constructive steps are being taken in the negotiation process,โ€ they said.

The three countries also called on the international community and the Board of Peace to take the necessary measures to ensure the ceasefire is respected and prevent further escalation.

โ—๏ธIsraeli occupation forces continue 12 day siege on three West Bank homes in Qusra

Israeli occupation forces continued enforcing a strict siege on three Palestinian homes in the West Bank town of Qusra for the twelfth consecutive day, preventing residents from entering or leaving the Ras al-Ain district.

Qusra Mayor Abdul Azim al-Wadi reported that the affected families are facing severe food and medicine shortages as troops block access to basic supplies, having turned one of the properties into a military barracks and declared the zone closed.

The escalation compounds an already volatile climate across the occupied territory, where a United Nations report indicates that anti-Palestinian settler violence and land seizures have reached unprecedented levels.

The UN has documented over 1,430 separate attacks this year alone, resulting in the displacement of approximately 3,800 Palestinian residents, nearly half of whom are children.

BREAKING | Iranโ€™s foreign ministry says the new US sanctions target innocent Iranian citizens and amount to economic terrorism:

โ–ช๏ธIn an official statement, the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the imposition of new economic and trade sanctions by the US ruling establishment, noting that the timing coincides with the anniversary of the 1953 coup. It framed the action as a continuation of 73 years of hostility and malice, highlighting the anti-human, law-breaking, and arrogant nature of the US government.

โ–ช๏ธThe ministry explicitly classified US economic sanctions against individual Iranian citizens as "economic terrorism" and "crimes against humanity." It asserted that the perpetrators, commanders, and executors of these measures are subject to legal prosecution and punishment due to these heinous acts.

โ–ช๏ธThe statement dismissed the sanctions as a failed continuation of past US-Zionist military and economic pressures designed to force Iran into submission. It emphasized that these measures will not have the slightest impact on the Iranian people's determination to safeguard their independence, dignity, and national sovereignty.

โ–ช๏ธEconomic pressure was characterized as another facet of war, military aggression, and US belligerence that threatens not only global peace and security, but also human civilization with moral decay. The ministry argued that any government committed to the UN Charter cannot remain indifferent to continuous US law-breaking and blatant international norm violations.

โ–ช๏ธThe Ministry of Foreign Affairs declared that Iran stands firm and resolute in defending its national security and interests against all military, economic, political, and psychological pressures. Leveraging seven decades of resistance experience and national capabilities, Iran pledged to use all tools and capacities to repel the malice of the 'US-Zionist enemy.'
