❗️Iran holds massive World Cup send-off rally in Tehran

Iran organized a World Cup farewell event in Tehran’s Enqelab Square on Wednesday evening, drawing thousands of supporters despite ongoing concerns about the team’s entry into the US and its participation in the tournament.

The squad, set to continue preparations at a training camp in Turkiye next week, received a warm reception from fans as players delivered patriotic remarks on stage and unveiled the uniforms they will wear during the 11 June to 19 July competition.

"This is the best send-off in the last four World Cup campaigns," Iranian FA (FFIRI) President Mehdi Taj told state TV.

"The players are with the people, and the crowd stands with the country's dignity, honor, and strength. Whatever the result, may Iran's flag be raised there and defended."

❗️Lebanon pushes for 'ceasefire' in Washington talks with Israel

Lebanon will call on Israel to halt its aggression during direct talks that opened in Washington on Thursday, according to a senior Lebanese official to Reuters.

A US State Department official confirmed that Lebanese and Israeli representatives, alongside US officials, began meeting at around 09:00 EDT (13:00 GMT).

The discussions, which are also expected to continue on Friday, mark the third round of talks between the two sides since 2 March.

An Israeli government spokesperson said the negotiations aim to disarm Hezbollah and move toward a 'peace deal.'

The 'ceasefire' is set to end on Sunday.

❗️Israeli prison authorities weaponize solitary confinement against Palestinian children

Data obtained from the Israel Prison Service reveals a staggering surge in the use of solitary confinement against Palestinian detainees, with children and women increasingly subjected to prolonged isolation. According to figures secured by Physicians for Human Rights, the number of Palestinian minors held in solitary confinement skyrocketed from a single case in 2022 to 290 in 2024. Adult detainees faced a similar trajectory as figures nearly tripled within the same period, reaching nearly 4,500 individuals trapped in isolation cells as the occupation intensified its crackdown following the events of October 2023.

The systematic expansion of these punitive measures coincides with reports of deteriorating conditions in Israeli prisons, where deliberate starvation tactics and physical abuse have become the norm. While Israeli authorities claim these measures fall under custodial governance, rights groups warn that isolation is being utilized as a routine tool of psychological warfare rather than an exceptional disciplinary act. The psychological toll on minors is particularly severe, with experts noting that such extreme forms of punishment often result in permanent mental health crises and hallucinations for those returned from what survivors describe as a living hell.

This escalation of abuse within the prison system is unfolding alongside a legislative push in the Knesset that formalizes the execution of Palestinian prisoners. With over 9,600 Palestinians now languishing in Israeli jails, the combination of administrative detention and normalized torture signifies a broader policy aimed at the total liquidation of Palestinian civil and political life.

❗️US and Israeli intelligence assets infiltrate Arab central banks through K2 Integrity surveillance contracts

An investigation by The New Arab reveals that K2 Integrity, a firm staffed by the veteran architects of Washington’s financial warfare, has secured deep access into the central banks of Iraq, Lebanon, and Libya. These "guerillas in grey suits", as the investigation describes them, have pivoted from the US Treasury to the private sector, leveraging auditing contracts to map the financial arteries of West Asia under the guise of anti-money laundering compliance. The firm’s leadership includes figures who pioneered the "maximum pressure" campaign against Iran, now utilizing these private deals to grant western and Israeli interests a direct window into the sovereign transactions of Arab states.

The report highlights a web of subsidiary ties to Israel's security apparatus, noting that K2 Integrity remains a major shareholder in BlueVoyant, a cybersecurity firm led by former commanders of Israel’s Unit 8200 and the Shin Bet. In Baghdad and Beirut, where normalization with Tel Aviv is a criminal offense, these "established and influential institutional relationships" have sparked outcries of a silent economic occupation. By embedding themselves within the Banque du Liban and the Central Bank of Iraq, these operatives have effectively bypassed traditional diplomatic hurdles to monitor cash economies and strangle Iranian-linked networks from within.

Despite the legal and procedural irregularities surrounding these secretive contracts, the Netanyahu administration and the US Federal Reserve continue to push for the expansion of K2’s mandate. In Lebanon, the central bank allegedly ignored public procurement laws to finalize a $12 million agreement that critics argue is less about financial reform and more about intelligence gathering.

❗️FT: Saudi Arabia floats Helsinki-style non-aggression pact with Iran

According to the Financial Times, Saudi Arabia has discussed the idea of a regional non-aggression pact between Iran and other West Asian states as part of talks with allies on how to manage tensions once the US-Israeli war on Iran comes to an end.

Riyadh is reportedly looking to the Helsinki Accords as a possible model, viewing it as a framework that could provide Iran with assurances against future attacks while establishing a broader regional security arrangement.

The proposal reflects concerns among Gulf states that, once the war ends and the large US military presence in the region is reduced, they could be left facing a "wounded but more hawkish Iran on their doorstep," according to the report.

The Financial Times claims the initiative has gained backing from several European capitals and European Union institutions, which see it as a way to prevent future wars and encourage regional powers to manage their own security affairs.

Diplomats reportedly said the idea is also being considered alongside broader efforts, including Pakistan-led mediation and emerging defense cooperation among Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Turkiye, and Egypt.
