Microsoft has launched Cloud-Initiated Driver Recovery (CIDR), a new feature that automatically rolls back faulty drivers delivered through Windows Update.

The system lets Microsoft remotely restore a previously stable driver version on affected PCs without user action or hardware manufacturer support.

It uses existing Windows Update infrastructure to quickly resolve issues from bad driver updates and reduce downtime.

The capability is currently in validation testing and will fully integrate with the Hardware Dev Center publishing process starting in September.

Google has announced Pause Point, a new Android Digital Wellbeing feature designed to interrupt distracting app sessions.

PAUSE POINT is a new Digital Wellbeing feature from Google. Select any app like Instagram, 𝕏, YouTube, or WhatsApp under Pause Point, and every time you open it, you get a 10-second pause screen. During that pause, you can do a breathing exercise, set a timer, look at a favourite photo, or open an alternative like an audiobook.

The goal is to help you reduce screen time without fully blocking apps.

India smartphone market declines by 4.1% YoY in Q1 2026:

- Apple is in the top 4 with 9.4% market share
-OPPO & Motorola saw growth in numbers by 22% & 14% respectively
- Vivo remains at top with 19.6% but saw a 4% decline comparatively
- Samsung remains at 2nd position with 17.1% market share
- Xiaomi and Poco combined market share is around 12.2%
- iQOO and OnePlus took the 9th and 10th spots with 1.9% and 1.7% market share
- realme saw a decline of 20% YoY

- Overall, Indian smartphone market declined by 4.1% YoY in Q1 2026.
