Most people haven't even experienced Wi-Fi 7 yet, and Asus is already announcing their ROG NeoCore Wi-Fi 8 router.

Here's what Wi-Fi 8 brings:
- it can reach the greater speeds and faster latency of Wi-Fi 7 more often
- designed to solve issues like dead zones, signal interference in crowded areas, and latency spikes.
- improved "hand-offs" between access points
- 2x higher mid-range throughput
- 2x wider IoT coverage
- 6x lower P99 latency
- built to support the constant, low-latency data flow required by modern AI-based devices and medical monitors.

The Wi-Fi 8 standard is expected to be finalised by late 2028.

Infinix Note 60 series is unveiled as first “anywhere” satellite calling smartphone

- According to Infinix, global satellite calling on the Note 60 series is built as an always-on emergency connection rather than a novelty add-on
- The transmission speeds are limited to just 4Kbps, but Infinix claims the system is optimized for HD voice calls and two-way SMS
- Infinix says the phone can automatically switch between satellite and roaming networks allowing it to maintain connectivity even in areas with no traditional mobile signal
- Infinix has also introduced the HydroFlow liquid cooling system on Note 60
- Dual piezoelectric ceramic pumps push coolant at a rate of 6.5ml per minute through the company’s new cooling architecture
- The setup is paired with a new vibrating piezoelectric fan that uses ultra-thin vibrating blades that are 0.1mm thick and pulse 25,000 times per second
- The company is also tapping into the gaming accessories market with industry’s first split controller featuring pressure-sensitive touchpad designed for ultra-low latency and mouse-grade microswitches
- The Note 60 series features a smart back panel using photochromic and thermochromic materials to shift colors and animate based on light and temperature
- The company also introduced its AI Module Universe, a modular ecosystem of magnetic accessories including a conferencing module for instant translation, a VlogCam module, a professional microphone module and an expandable battery pack called StackPower
