Samsung to Hold ‘AI-Focused’ Galaxy Unpacked Event in San Francisco on February 25 for Galaxy S26
Samsung Electronics will hold its “Galaxy Unpacked” event on February 25 next year in San Francisco, USA.
According to industry sources on the 2nd, Samsung has confirmed the unveiling of its next-generation flagship smartphone, the “Galaxy S26” series (hereafter referred to as S26), in San Francisco on February 25 and has begun preparations for the event. A source familiar with Samsung’s plans said, “Samsung is preparing its first San Francisco Unpacked in three years since the S23 in 2023,” adding, “As San Francisco has emerged as the hub of AI (artificial intelligence) technology, it’s the perfect location for Samsung—the pioneer of the AI smartphone era—to hold its event.”
While Samsung has typically held its Unpacked events between late January and early February, this year’s schedule has been adjusted to late February. Industry observers attribute the change to adjustments in the product lineup. Samsung had initially planned to replace the base model with a “Pro” version and introduce an “Edge” model instead of the “Plus.” However, following the disappointing performance of the previous S25 Edge, the company decided to maintain its three-model lineup consisting of the Base, Plus, and Ultra variants.

Chinese brands are taking a step back on the high ram/storage race due to high costs and low production
We have seen an increase in 24gb ram & 1TB storage configurations however for 2026 most phones well cap at 16gb ram as we just saw with the Oneplus 15

OxygenOS 15 vs OxygenOS 16
1. About Phone page
2. Fixed quick settings blur in Light mode
After the April update on OxygenOS 15, the tiles in QS panel adapted to the wallpaper's colours, and it didn't look good.
On OxygenOS 16 that design decision has been reverted back.
3. Redesigned QS panel settings page + Editing
The QS panel page now features coloured placeholders for 'Classic' and 'Split' panels.
The Split QS panel also finally supports tiles repositioning in the upper portion
Also, there's a new 'Multicolour' tiles option.
4. Glass and light effects in various buttons
OxygenOS 16's design fundamental is to insert light and glass effects in certain areas. These can be found in:
- Close button in recents
- Lockscreen shortcuts
- Launcher menu buttons
