The BMP-1 retains its standard 73mm gun, while the MT-LB, previously configured as a radar vehicle, is expected to be modified with equipment for shooting down missiles.

Ukraine has approached the museum several times for military vehicles and has made similar requests to other European museums.

Air-defense interceptors are among the biggest concerns. U.S. Patriot inventories fell from roughly 2,200 missiles to fewer than 827, while THAAD stocks dropped from 452 to fewer than 278.

The Pentagon has pursued major framework agreements with defense companies, including a $58.6 billion arrangement with Lockheed Martin, but many remain nonbinding and dependent on congressional funding. Much of the planned expansion relies on a $1.15 trillion defense spending package currently stalled in Congress.
