๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ผ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ณโšก๏ธ โ€” Taiwan is accelerating plans to build large fleets of aerial and maritime attack drones designed to help repel a potential Chinese invasion, drawing heavily on lessons from Ukraine, NYT reports.

The strategy is based on the U.S.-developed โ€œhellscapeโ€ concept: overwhelming approaching Chinese forces with waves of drones, missiles, and artillery while keeping Taiwanese units highly mobile to avoid counterstrikes. Taiwan still needs major changes to training, doctrine, battlefield intelligence sharing, and unit mobility to effectively implement the strategy.

Taiwan aims to produce 100,000 drones per month by 2030, roughly half for export, while its military plans to acquire more than 210,000 aerial and maritime drones. Taipei has also established a new Littoral Combat Command integrating drones, mobile missiles, and artillery for coastal defense.

Taiwan is simultaneously expanding its domestic drone industry to reduce reliance on foreign supplies during a potential Chinese blockade. Drone exports reached $115 million in the first three months of 2026, already exceeding the total for all of 2025.

The Mecca Alliance is a very dangerous and very disturbing development.

Saudi Arabia was essentially sitting on the fence. It already had a defense agreement with Pakistan, but the moment it goes with the Turksโ€”who are in a direct confrontation with us, one that could develop to dimensions that may have extremely serious consequences, both in the Mediterranean and on the Syrian frontโ€”this is a development that is very, very bad for us, for Israel.

It requires us to deepen our alliances with Greece and Cyprus, the United Arab Emirates, and Somaliland.

๐Ÿ‡ฑ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฑ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธโšก๏ธ โ€” A Lebanese official told Saudi Al Hadath that Beirut is carefully considering its participation in the next round of Rome negotiations and will withhold a decision pending the outcome of ongoing diplomatic contacts.

The official said Lebanon would not retreat from its three demands: a ceasefire, expansion of the "experimental" pilot arrangement, and an end to demolitions.

The official also condemned an Israeli-published map depicting territory in southern Lebanon as part of Israel, prompting the possibility of Israel annexing territory in southern Lebanon to be added to the agenda of the Rome negotiations.

President Joseph Aoun has also directed diplomatic action with the U.S. and UN over the issue.

๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡ชโšก๏ธ โ€” Daniel Kinahan, the suspected head of the Kinahan organized crime group, has been extradited from Dubai to Ireland to face criminal charges, ending a yearslong effort by European and U.S. authorities to bring him to trial.

The Kinahan network is accused of becoming one of Europe's major cocaine suppliers through relationships with Colombian and Mexican cartels and the Italian Mafia. Authorities have also accused the group of co-financing drug shipments with Hezbollah and providing protection to an Iran-linked hitman.

Irish police estimated the Kinahan family's wealth at at least โ‚ฌ1 billion in 2024.

If we rely on other countries, we will lose. No one can represent us, nor our people.

We have placed our faith in God and in the people of our own nation.

While we will strive for communication and engagement with them, if we expect them to fulfill our desires and simply wait for their action, we would be signing our own defeat. We do not wait for them.

๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ทโšก๏ธ โ€” Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian:
Our communication with regional countries is improvingโ€”compared to the past, and certainly compared to the height of the war, as relations were very good before.

Pakistan is now cooperating with all its heart. Afghanistanโ€™s cooperation is very good. Turkmenistan is good.

Afghanistan and Pakistan have prevented terrorists and separatists from entering the country from their territories.

Azerbaijan had closed all routes and shut down our bank... We called and spoke with them; after a two-hour conversation, they reopened it. The bank, the embassy, and the routes were all reopened.

During the war, they helped us significantly with various routesโ€”whether for Russiaโ€™s supplies or their ownโ€”they accompanied and assisted us with whatever we needed. Iraq is the same.

We are standing firm and will continue with strength. As long as there is life in our bodies, we will defend the countryโ€™s territorial integrity, its people, and Iranโ€™s dignity and honor.

We are trying to move forward with unity and cohesion and avoid doing anything that would make the enemy happy or create problems within the country.

๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ทโšก๏ธ โ€” Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian:
Why did they target our law enforcement officers so heavily? After all, law enforcement isn't a military force involved in war. Why strike them?

They believed that by targeting law enforcement, street protests and unrest would spark.

They hoped this would trigger ethnic tensions, ultimately leading to the country being torn apart.

All of their plans were completely foiled.

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ทโšก๏ธ โ€” President Trump told Axios that the U.S. is "low keying it" with Iran, signaling Washington is holding off on renewed major military action for now while allowing economic pressure to build.

"We are only semi-negotiating with them. We are just watching Iran with its huge inflation and the fact they have no money," Trump said, arguing that Iran is "in very bad shape" economically and struggling to pay its troops as the U.S. naval blockade intensifies pressure.

"It will work out. It always works out. It's like a chess game," Trump said of the standoff with Tehran.

๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡ด๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธโšก๏ธ โ€” An agreement governing traffic through the Strait of Hormuz has been negotiated between Iran, Oman, and the U.S. but has remained pending for several days, Axios reports.

Under the proposed deal, Iran would receive partial control over traffic through the strait, something it did not have before the war. Qatari and Pakistani mediators had expected the agreement to be announced Wednesday, but its prospects have since faded.

U.S. officials say there are growing divisions within Iran's leadership. One camp, led by President Masoud Pezeshkian, is said to be increasingly concerned about a potential economic collapse and believes Tehran needs an agreement with Washington. Another camp, led by IRGC commander Ahmad Vahidi, opposes making concessions to the U.S.

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ทโšก๏ธ โ€” U.S. officials say President Trump was leaning toward resuming major combat operations against Iran about a week ago but was ultimately convinced to de-escalate for now, Axios reports.

Without active warfare, Tehran is instead forced to face a "grim reality" with few solutions available, one official argued.

The U.S. official said around 8 million barrels of oil are moving through the southern lane of the Strait of Hormuz each night, coordinated with the U.S. military. Washington intends to increase the amount of oil passing through the strait while negotiations remain unresolved.

CENTCOM commander Adm. Brad Cooper conveyed the message during his weekend visit to Israel, with a senior IDF officer describing the U.S. position as "Move forward to closing all three arenas."

In Iran, Israel has told Washington it intends to retain the option of independent military action if intelligence indicates Tehran is rebuilding its nuclear weapons capabilities or ballistic missile arsenal.

In Lebanon, Washington is pushing for further Israeli withdrawals from positions in the southern "security zone."

In Gaza, the U.S. wants progress toward the next phase of the agreement and deployment of the multinational force (ISF).
