Taele was arrested on weapons-related charges, and the investigation is ongoing.

The 60-day temporary arrangement could be extended: inbound ships would use a northern lane through Iranian waters, while outbound traffic would use a southern lane through Omani waters in coordination with Iran, with no tolls or fees. Qatar, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia also took part in mediation efforts, while the White House was directly involved in the negotiations.
