🇪🇺🇷🇺⚡️ — The EU has agreed on a 21st sanctions package against Russia over the war in Ukraine, targeting the country's financial sector while softening some proposed measures after objections from member states.

➡️ The package places 94 Russian financial institutions, including Moscow's stock exchange, under full EU sanctions, while freezing the Russian oil price cap at $44.10 per barrel for one year to prevent Moscow from benefiting from higher oil prices.

➡️ EU diplomats also agreed to grant a renewable one-year exemption allowing EU companies to transfer Russian LNG to third countries after Greece secured a compromise. Imports of Russian LNG into the EU will still be banned from January 1.

➡️ Several proposals were dropped or delayed during negotiations. A proposed visa ban on Russian soldiers who fought in Ukraine was postponed, Bulgaria blocked sanctions against Russian Orthodox Patriarch Kirill, and France and Portugal opposed a ban on imports of Russian cod and Alaskan pollock.

🇬🇧⚡️ — A YouGov poll found that only 6% of Britons would volunteer to fight if the United Kingdom were invaded, while 14% said they would serve if called up.

The survey found that 29% believe the UK is likely to face a full-scale military attack within the next decade, compared with 51% who consider such a scenario unlikely.

Confidence in Britain's armed forces was also mixed, with 53% of respondents saying they are not confident the military could defend the country, while 38% expressed confidence.

The poll also found that 57% believe the government spends too little on defense. However, few respondents supported raising taxes, cutting public spending, or increasing borrowing to fund higher military expenditure.

The Civil Nuclear Deal (There will be no enrichment of material!) being made between the United States Department of Energy and Saudi Arabia, which pertains only to non-military use such as the ones that Iran and UAE (and others) already have, will be approved, but is totally subject to Saudi Arabia joining the very respected and successful Abraham Accords.

The United States is not opposed to Civil (Non-Enriched) Nuclear Facilities.
