🇺🇸🇮🇷⚡️ — A senior U.S. official told Fox News that no agreement will be signed “today or tomorrow,” adding that President Trump is inclined to give the process several more days to reach a final outcome. The official said the administration’s approach is…
🇺🇸🇮🇷⚡️ — Iran has rejected claims that the release of its frozen assets would only occur after Tehran begins transferring its enriched uranium stockpile, saying that linkage is not accepted under the current framework being discussed, Tasnim reports.

Tehran insists that part of its frozen assets must be released and made fully accessible immediately upon the announcement of any agreement.

Iran also maintains that it has not yet made commitments regarding the technical details of the nuclear issue and therefore does not consider the initial release of funds to be tied to uranium or nuclear material arrangements.

The failure to release frozen assets at the outset would cross one of Tehran’s stated “red lines” and would prevent any agreement from being reached.

🇺🇸🇱🇧🇱🇧⚡️ — Secretary of State Marco Rubio:
The U.S. stands firmly with the legitimate Government of Lebanon as it works to restore its authority and build a better future for all its people.

Hizballah's threats of violence and overthrow will not be allowed to succeed. The era in which a terrorist group held an entire nation hostage is coming to an end.

🇮🇷🇺🇸⚡️ — An informed source told Iran's Tasnim News Agency:
Iran has no optimism towards America, and the exchange of messages through the Pakistani mediator is always conducted with skepticism towards the U.S. government.

So far, no final agreement has been reached, and challenges remain in some clauses, but even if an initial understanding is reached, it does not mean a change in Iran's view of America or trust in the U.S. government's fulfillment of commitments.

🇱🇧🇱🇧🇮🇱⚡️ — Hezbollah Secretary-General Naim Qassem: If this government is incapable of securing sovereignty, then it should step down. Tell me, what have you accomplished in a year and a half?
🇺🇸🇱🇧🇱🇧⚡️ — Secretary of State Marco Rubio condemns Hezbollah after its Secretary-General Naim Qassem called for the Lebanese government to step down if it is "incapable of securing sovereignty":
The United States condemns in the strongest terms Hezbollah's reckless call to overthrow Lebanon’s democratically elected government.

Hezbollah has ignored repeated calls from the legitimate Government of Lebanon to cease its attacks and respect a ceasefire. Instead, it has continued firing on Israeli positions and moving fighters and weapons into southern Lebanon. This is a deliberate campaign to destabilize the country and maintain its power at the expense of the future of the Lebanese people.

The Government of Lebanon is working to deliver recovery, reconstruction, international assistance, and a stable future for its citizens with the full support of the United States. Hizballah, by contrast, is actively trying to drag Lebanon back into chaos and destruction.

🇱🇧🇱🇧🇮🇱WATCH: Hezbollah released a compilation showing Ababil FPV kamikaze drone strikes targeting IDF positions and equipment in Rashaf, southern Lebanon, over several weeks.

The footage shows strikes against multiple Israeli military assets, including at least two Merkava Mk4 tanks, armored bulldozers, Humvees, fuel trucks, a SATCOM system, and fortified positions used by Israeli forces.

The video also shows Israeli forces using protective netting over buildings in an effort to intercept FPV drones, while infantry presence appeared limited as troops avoided prolonged exposure in open areas.

According to Hezbollah, the attacks ultimately forced Israeli troops to withdraw from the town.

🇺🇸🇮🇷⚡️ — A U.S. official says the U.S. and Iran have reached an agreement in principle centered on reopening the Strait of Hormuz, though major questions remain about implementation and timing, NYT reports.

Iran would remove naval mines and permit unrestricted commercial shipping through the strait, while the U.S. would end its naval blockade of Iranian ports and allow Iran to resume oil exports.

The proposed agreement is intended as an initial framework for future negotiations rather than a final deal.

Iran’s missile program and uranium enrichment are not part of the current arrangement and would be addressed in separate talks later. Nuclear-related negotiations are expected to take place within 30 to 60 days after the agreement is reached.

The proposal still requires approval from President Trump and Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, which could take days.

🇺🇸🇮🇷⚡️ — U.S. intelligence assessments say Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei is operating from an undisclosed secure location with extremely limited outside communication, relying on a complex courier network that obscures his whereabouts and slows internal decision-making, CBS News reports.

Iranian negotiators working with the U.S. have struggled to communicate within their own system, contributing to delays in responses to proposed deal terms and broader negotiations.

Officials said messages sent by Washington can take significant time to reach the supreme leader, whose replies are also delayed because information is passed through multiple intermediaries rather than direct communication channels.

One official said U.S. and Israeli intelligence operations during the war enabled the identification and targeting of large parts of Iran’s senior leadership, leading many Iranian officials to remain inside fortified bunkers and sharply limit contact with one another.

Even senior members of the Iranian government do not know the supreme leader’s location or have direct access to him. Instead, he communicates broad negotiating instructions through trusted intermediaries, specifying which issues can be discussed and which remain off limits.

🇷🇸🇪🇺⚡️ — Serbia's President Aleksandar Vučić accuses the EU of dictating Serbia’s diplomacy:
First, I was forbidden to seek talks and seek dialogue with the Russian Federation.

They almost forbade me from seeking dialogue with the people in our country, even though I have asked for and insisted on it from the beginning. Now they might as well forbid me from doing it with China.

It would be best if they just made me a list, a wish list of who I am allowed to meet with and who I am not. Then what do we even need a president for? What do we need a government for? What do we need anyone or anything for? Let someone govern by email and fax from some center of power, and that is it.

But Serbia is an autonomous, sovereign, independent state and will continue to act in accordance with its interests.

🇨🇳🇯🇵🇺🇸⚡️ — Chinese President Xi Jinping sharply criticized Japan's Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi and Japan’s growing military spending during his summit with President Trump, accusing Tokyo of pursuing “remilitarization,” according to FT.

➡️ Xi became unusually vocal and agitated while discussing Japan, making it one of the most heated exchanges of the two-day summit.

➡️ Trump responded by arguing that Japan had been forced to adopt a stronger security posture because of increasing threats from North Korea, though it's unclear if he mentioned China in the same context.

➡️ U.S. officials said Trump also emphasized his respect for the Japanese people and his close relationship with Takaichi during his meeting with Xi.

➡️ A senior U.S. official added that the American delegation reminded Chinese officials about the significant U.S. military presence stationed in Japan.

🇪🇺⚡️ — The European Central Bank is urging banks to accelerate efforts to secure their IT systems amid growing concerns over cyber risks posed by advanced AI models such as Anthropic’s Claude Mythos Preview, FT reports.

ECB supervisory board vice-chair Frank Elderson said the central bank convened an unusual ad hoc meeting with lenders to discuss how rapidly evolving AI capabilities could expose vulnerabilities across the financial system.

Elderson warned that AI-powered tools could dramatically reduce the time needed to exploit software vulnerabilities, saying attackers may now be able to reverse-engineer security patches within minutes rather than weeks. He urged banks to significantly speed up the deployment of software updates and cyber defenses.

The ECB is also encouraging U.S. banks already using advanced AI systems to share lessons and security insights with European counterparts.

Calling the situation “game-changing,” Elderson warned that malicious actors could soon gain access to similar technologies and stressed that “the clock is ticking.”

🇺🇸🇮🇷⚡️ — A liquefied natural gas tanker and a crude oil supertanker have resumed transit through the Strait of Hormuz after extended disruptions, according to Reuters, citing shipping data.

— The LNG tanker Fuwairit, sailing under the Bahamas flag, is currently crossing the strait en route to Pakistan after loading cargo at Ras Laffan around March 28. The vessel is expected to arrive in Pakistan on Tuesday.

— The VLCC Eagle Verona, a Singapore-flagged supertanker chartered by Sinopec’s trading arm Unipec, exited the Gulf on Saturday after being stranded for nearly three months. The vessel, carrying nearly 2 million barrels of Iraqi Basrah crude loaded in February, is expected to arrive at Ningbo, China, on June 12.

🪖🇪🇺🇺🇸⚡️ — NATO’s Supreme Allied Commander Transformation Admiral Pierre Vandier told POLITICO that the alliance currently has “no real competitor” to Palantir's battlefield AI systems.

Admiral Pierre Vandier told POLITICO that NATO moved quickly in 2025 to purchase Palantir’s Maven Smart System because the alliance needed an immediately available solution.

“So they said: ‘We’ll take something off the shelf that the United States used,’” Vandier said. “As far as I know, today there is no real competitor for Palantir.”

The system was procured in just six months — one of the fastest acquisitions in NATO history — and has already been deployed at NATO command centers in the Netherlands and Belgium.

"It’s a race. It’s the ability of Europeans to show that they are able to provide something which is relevant in a matter of months, years, and not a decade," he added.

Defining what he called “digital sovereignty,” Vandier argued that Europe’s most realistic short-term goal is ensuring control over its own data and intellectual property rather than seeking immediate full technological independence.

🇻🇪🇺🇸⚡️ — President Delcy Rodríguez has consolidated her hold on power in Venezuela with support from the U.S., while free elections continue to be delayed and President Trump is not prioritizing the issue, WSJ reports.

Rodríguez, once sanctioned by the U.S. and closely associated with Venezuela’s socialist leadership, has repositioned herself as a pragmatic partner for the Trump administration, hosting American officials and energy executives in Caracas while promoting long-term economic cooperation.

U.S. officials view Rodríguez as cooperative, business-friendly, and capable of maintaining stability during a period of regional and global energy uncertainty.

Rodríguez has told Washington she supports elections eventually but argues sanctions must first be lifted so Venezuela can restore infrastructure and economic activity before any vote takes place.

Elections aren’t even on Trump’s mind at this point, said a senior administration official.

Since January, after the capture of Nicolás Maduro by U.S. commandos, Washington has overseen millions of barrels of Venezuelan oil, with proceeds being held in a special U.S. State Department-controlled fund.

Despite the improved relationship with Washington, Rodríguez’s domestic approval rating has slipped to around 30% amid continuing hyperinflation, unemployment, and power shortages.

Critics and opposition figures argue the political changes under Rodríguez remain largely cosmetic, saying much of the existing power structure established under Maduro is still intact. They point to cabinet reshuffles and security-sector changes while noting her brother continues to hold a powerful position in the legislature.
