🇺🇸🇮🇷⚡️ — President Trump on Iran:
They can drop their mines in there and do all those stupid things.

It's just going to take longer for them to make money, because the mines are going to affect them much more than they're going to affect us.

We don't know that they're doing that, but they could be that. If they're doing it, it's a very foolish thing to do.

🇺🇸⚡️ — Secretary of the Navy John C. Phelan was dismissed in part because he ‌was moving too slowly to implement reforms to speed shipbuilding and because he had fallen out with key Pentagon leadership, according to Reuters, citing sources.

🇺🇸🇮🇷⚡️ — NEW: U.S. military officials are preparing new contingency plans in case the ceasefire with Iran collapses, with a strong focus on operations around the Strait of Hormuz, CNN reports.

➡️ The plans emphasize “dynamic targeting” of Iran’s capabilities in the Strait of Hormuz, the southern Arabian Gulf, and the Gulf of Oman, including potential strikes on fast attack boats, minelaying vessels, and other asymmetric assets that Tehran has used to disrupt shipping and exert pressure on the U.S.

➡️ Unlike earlier phases of the conflict—which targeted sites deeper inside Iran—these new options would involve a more concentrated campaign around key maritime chokepoints. However, officials caution that strikes alone are unlikely to immediately reopen the waterway.

➡️ Additional options under consideration include strikes on dual-use infrastructure such as energy facilities to force Iran back to negotiations, as well as targeting individual Iranian military leaders and other “obstructionists” within the government who U.S. officials have recently suggested are actively undermining negotiations.

➡️ Renewed U.S. strikes would likely also target remaining missile systems, launchers, and production sites that were not destroyed in previous U.S.-Israeli strikes or have since been relocated.

As one source familiar with the military planning put it, “Unless you can unequivocally prove that 100% of Iran’s military capability is destroyed… it will come down to how badly [Trump] is willing to accept the risk and start pushing ships through the strait."

🇺🇸🇮🇷⚡️REMINDER: Trump's repost on Thursday:
"If there are two factions in Iran, one that wants a deal and one that doesn't, let's kill the ones who don't want a deal."

➡️ Now CNN reports that individual Iranian military leaders and other “obstructionists” within the government who U.S. officials have recently suggested are actively undermining negotiations might be targeted as part of future operations.

🇮🇱🇱🇧🇱🇧⚡️ — Israeli UN Ambassador Danny Danon told CNN that the extended ceasefire in Lebanon is “not 100%,” questioning whether the Lebanese government can enforce it in the south where Hezbollah operates.

He stated that Hezbollah continues launching rockets to undermine the truce, adding, “Israel… has to retaliate” whenever it identifies a threat.

Danon said the situation has improved compared to before but added, “It’s not 100%,” expressing hope that the Lebanese army can effectively enforce the agreement.

🇺🇸🇬🇧⚡️ — President Trump told The Telegraph he would “put a big tariff on the UK” if it did not drop its digital service tax, which he says is unfairly targeting U.S. tech companies.

I don’t like it when they target American companies, because basically, you’re talking about our great American companies.

Whether we like those companies or don’t like them, they’re American companies and the top companies in the world.

We’ve been looking at it, and we can meet that very easily by just putting a big tariff on the UK. So they better be careful. If they don’t drop the tax, we’ll probably put a big tariff on the UK.

🇺🇸🇮🇷⚡️ — The U.S. has expended a massive amount of munitions during the war with Iran, significantly draining its global stockpiles and raising concerns about readiness in other regions, NYT reports.

➡️ Since the war began in late February, U.S. forces have used around 1,100 long-range stealth cruise missiles (JASSM-ER), which cost about $1.1 million each and are designed for high-end conflicts like one with China. This has left roughly 1,500 remaining.

➡️ The military has also launched more than 1,000 Tomahawk missiles—about ten times its annual procurement rate—along with over 1,200 Patriot interceptors (each costing more than $4 million) and more than 1,000 Precision Strike and ATACMS missiles.

➡️ In just the first two days of fighting, about $5.6 billion worth of munitions were used, contributing to more than 13,000 targets being struck overall—often requiring multiple munitions per target.

The scale of consumption has forced the Pentagon to redirect weapons, missiles, and systems from commands in Europe and Asia to support operations in the Middle East.

These transfers have reduced readiness elsewhere:
In Europe, stockpiles critical for NATO’s eastern flank and deterrence against Russia have been depleted, while shortages of surveillance and attack drones and reduced training exercises are impacting operational capability.

In Asia, the impact is even greater: assets including Patriot and THAAD interceptors have been moved from key locations, including South Korea, weakening defenses against regional threats like North Korea’s growing missile threat. Naval forces have also been shifted, including the redeployment of a carrier strike group and Marine units from the Pacific.

At the same time, replenishment efforts are lagging. While the Pentagon has secured long-term agreements with defense contractors such as Lockheed Martin to increase production—aiming to “quadruple” output of precision-guided munitions and missile interceptors—actual expansion has stalled due to pending congressional funding. Until that funding is approved, increase in production cannot fully begin.

Officials warn that rebuilding inventories could take years, leaving some arsenals “worrisomely low” and raising broader concerns about the U.S. ability to handle multiple high-intensity conflicts simultaneously.

🇺🇸🇮🇷⚡️ — White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said in a statement to NYT that “the entire premise of this story is false.”

The United States of America has the most powerful military in the world, fully loaded with more than enough weapons and munitions, in stockpiles here at home and all around the globe, to effectively defend the homeland and achieve any military operation directed by the commander in chief.

🇺🇸🇮🇷⚡️ — Republican Senator Lindsey Graham on Iran:
The bottom line here is they don't have a pathway to a nuclear bomb, they're no longer the largest state sponsor of terrorism, they don't have missiles to terrorize the region and the world like they used to.

This has been an amazing success, and President Trump is right: don't be in a hurry; get it right.

He's the first guy in 47 years to take these guys on, and they've had their ass kicked. Let's just be patient.

🇺🇸🪖⚡️ — NEW: An internal Pentagon email outlines possible ways for the U.S. to respond to NATO allies it believes did not adequately support operations in the war with Iran, Reuters reports.

➡️ The document, circulated at senior levels, expresses frustration over some allies’ refusal to provide access, basing, and overflight rights, described as “just the absolute baseline for NATO.”

➡️ Among the options discussed are suspending countries like Spain from key NATO roles and reconsidering U.S. backing for United Kingdom claims to the Falkland Islands.

➡️ While Trump has publicly criticized allies and even raised the possibility of leaving NATO, the email does not propose withdrawing from the alliance or closing U.S. bases in Europe.

🇫🇷🇩🇪⚡️ — France and Germany are extending talks to resolve disagreements over their joint Future Combat Air System program, POLITICO reports.

➡️ President Emmanuel Macron and Chancellor Friedrich Merz discussed the issue and tasked their defense ministries to continue working on multiple areas of cooperation, including the stalled Future Combat Air System (FCAS).

➡️ The project, also involving Spain, is meant to replace aircraft like the Rafale and Eurofighter by around 2040 but has been delayed due to disputes between Dassault Aviation and Airbus Defence and Space.

➡️ Despite missed deadlines and ongoing tensions, Macron stressed that progress is being made and said the project is “not at all” dead, though it may take several more weeks to reach an agreement.
