We have a lot of countries that are involved in a Gaza peacekeeping force and will announce them at the appropriate time.

We want to see Turkey and Israel start to rebuild their relationship.

In 2015 we negotiated for two and a half years, we concluded a deal and the United States decided to withdraw for no reason and no justification.

So why should we engage with negotiation with the United States?

When United States talk about negotiation, it means they want dictation and not negotiation.

President Trump is absolutely right!

When the Nazis occupied Denmark during WW2, the United States rose to the occasion and kept Greenlanders safe and Nazis out of the Western hemisphere. The threats posed by adversarial nations today require decisive American action in the arctic.

Greenland is a critical component of our nation's national security portfolio. The United States has maintained a security presence in Greenland since 1941 and has worked hand in hand with Greenlanders to reinforce the Monroe Doctrine.

I hope to bring our brand of culinary diplomacy to Greenland to strengthen our nation's national security and bring economic opportunities to the great people of Greenland!

It was a brilliant opportunity for us to share our view with our American friends.

I mean, we are close allies. We have had diplomatic relations. You will not find an ally to the U.S. who has had uninterrupted diplomatic relationships as long as we have, for 225 years in a row.

We share the challenges linked to the situation in the Arctic. We didn't agree that it can only be achieved if the U.S. conquers Greenland.

So it was a great opportunity to take this—I wouldn't call it a dialogue—these discussions, which have been in social media and the press for 13 months, into a more formal environment where we could make our points.

We are the kingdom of Denmark — we consist of Denmark, the Faroe Islands, and Greenland. We have had a long-lasting relationship for hundreds of years.

17,000 Greenlandic people are living in Denmark. It's one-third of the total population in Greenland.

More than one out of ten people in Greenland are Danes. So we are totally integrated. We share a history.

Last night, the Premier in Greenland made it crystal clear that even though, you know, in a very long-term perspective, and I think that goes for all people across the world that want some kind of independence, right now and for the foreseeable future, they want to be a part of the kingdom of Denmark.

We share that concern [regarding Russia and China]. But we also need to have a facts-based dialogue.

At least Danish intelligence, and I don't think your intelligence has a different view on that; we haven't seen a Chinese warship in Greenland for a decade or so.

There's absolutely no Chinese investments in Greenland.

When I served as Prime Minister—I served as Prime Minister twice—we avoided any kind of Chinese investments in infrastructure. You know, 10 years ago, the Roller Belt Initiative, what you have seen in Africa, we avoided all that.

We now build new international airports in Greenland. They are funded by Danish money. We had an abandoned American military installation years ago. There was a global tender.

I personally intervened in this in order to avoid any Chinese footprint. So there's absolutely no Chinese footprint in Greenland.

I know your president very well. I have met him on several occasions. I was among the first European leaders to meet him in his first term.

There's always, you know, a bit of truth in what he's saying.

We definitely share the concern that the Arctic is not any longer a low-tension region. We have to be aware of that. And that's why we have invested almost US$15 billion last year in capabilities in Greenland.

It's probably possible that the U.S. could try to do it. It's not possible that Greenland will buy into all this.

According to the latest poll in Greenland, only 6% of the Greenlandic population wants to become American.

No, at least I do not hope so, because that would be the end of NATO. But I want to have a more positive approach to all this.

I think it's important for me to say that we share the concerns. That's why we are investing heavily.

We haven't received any military requests from the U.S. about stepping up in Greenland for the last 20 years. And we have this framework from 1951.

We have a defense agreement. We all belong to NATO. And we think that our way forward should be that we combine forces. We share the concerns to some extent, but not the methods, if I could put it that way.

It's not that I have a position that now the problem is solved. It stands crystal clear for me that the president's ambition is on the table. Of course, we have our red lights. I mean, this is 2026.

You trade with people, but you don't trade people.

There's a third way forward, and that's what we agreed on today, that we will now set up this high-level working group to explore whether there's a way forward where we can accommodate.

I totally agree with the president's concern while having respect for the territorial integrity of the Kingdom of Denmark and the Greenlandic people's right to self-determination.
