🇺🇸🇨🇳🦠❗️ BREAKING: A new, highly contagious COVID-19 variant, "NB.1.81," has been detected in the U.S., including in New York City, after causing a surge in hospitalizations in China and across Asia, the American CDC confirmed.

➡️ The variant was first identified in the U.S. in late March and early April through CDC airport testing of international travelers arriving in California, Washington State, Virginia, and New York City. Additional cases have since been reported in Ohio, Rhode Island, and Hawaii.
