오늘 한국시간 새벽에 FOMC 의사 결정이 발표됩니다.

선물 시장을 통해 살펴보는 시장 참여자들의 관점은 75bps 이자율 상승을 약 90%+ 만큼 선반영 하고있는 상황이고

50bps, 75bps 상승 결정 모두 다 나름의 타당성이 존재하는 결과입니다

50bps 이자율 상승 결정 rationale = 초단기 위험자산 랠리가 예측됩니다. 또한, 아직 Fed 가 balance sheet 에 쌓아둔 채권을 unwind 본격적으로 시작하기 이전이라 섣부르게 이자율을 공격적으로 올리기 힘들 거라는 view 도 존재합니다.
75bps 이자율 상승 결정 rationale = Fed 가 50bps 만큼만 이자율을 상승시킨다면, 시장이 현 상황에서 충격을 받아가며 감수하고 있는 75bps 만큼의 상승에서 25bps 어치만큼을 되돌리는 것이기 때문에 인플레이션을 공격적으로 잡겠다는 Fed 의 선언과 다소 불일치합니다.

개인적으로는 50bps 상승 시키고, 메시지를 hawkish 하게 유지해 타이트닝을 시도하지 않을까 싶습니다.

5월 statement 에서 바뀔 만한 부분을 빨간색 네모로 표시해뒀습니다.

remained strong --> remained modestly strong 정도로 톤다운 될 수 있습니다 (hawkish)
been robust --> 안 바뀔 수 있지만, 바뀐다면 steady 했다는 정도로 보완될 수 있습니다 (hawkish)
COVID-related lockdowns in China are likely to exacerbate supply chain disruptions --> 아마 서플라이 체인이 망가지는 것이 조금 더 확인되었다는 투로 강화될 수 있습니다 (hawkish)
3/4 to 1 percent --> 이자율 상승 결정에 따라 조절될 예정
