stETH/ETH 유동성, 셀시우스가 처한 위기, 최근 알라메다의 대규모 stETH청산에 대한 분석이 담긴 쓰레드

1. stETH는 Lido에서 제공하는 스테이킹된 이더
2. stETH는 ETH에 의해 뒷받췸되지만, 이더 2.0 통합 이전에는 유동성이 부족함. 하지만 stETH/ETH 풀로 인해 유동성이 크게 문제된 적은 없었음
3. 하지만 현재 커브풀은 ETH 25%, stETH 75%로 매우 불균형해졌고, 3%의 슬리피지가 발생된 상태
4. 최근 알라메다는 손실이 일어남에도 불구하고 50,000 stETH를 ETH로 대규모 청산.
5. why? 이유는 셀시우스 (Celsius) 때문
6. 셀시우스는 그간 방만한 운영으로 막대한 손실을 입었으며 stETH의 상환을 요청하는 투자자에게 줄 수 있는 ETH 자금이 빠르게 고갈될 수 있음
7. 셀시우스가 투자자에게 상환할 자금을 마련하기 위해선 두가지 방법이 존재 (stETH를 ETH로 판매, 또는 stETH를 담보로 대출을 받아 상환)
8. 첫번째 stETH를 판매하는 것은 너무 큰 슬리피치 손실을 초래. 두번째 stETH를 담보로 받기엔 셀시우스는 이미 너무 큰 부채가 존재 (현재 $1B 이상). Aave의 경우 stETH를 담보로 $2.5B를 담보로 사용 중
9. 최악의 상황은 stETH의 디패깅이 심해지면서 셀시우스가 청산당하는 것.
10. 현재 stETH의 고래들은 이를 대비해 탈출하고 있으며 (알리메다), 아직 stETH를 보유하고 있는 많은 고래들이 있음.
11. stETH의 유동성이 계속해서 줄어들면 셀시우스는 다음과 같은 포지션도 청산해야함 ($400M 규모의 wBTC, $7M 규모의 LINK)
12. 글 작성자가 만약 VC라면, stETH의 비유동성을 공격해 셀시우스를 청산시키고, 이를 통해 숏 수익을 실현할 것. 이후 이더 2.0 통합 전 할인된 가격에 stETH 매수

- 근래 읽은 글들 중 가장 와닿는 글. 크립토, 아니 디지털에서 가장 희소한 것은 '관심'. 수많은 프로젝트들이 런칭하지만, 사람들의 관심을 받고 무럭무럭 자라는 프로젝트는 정말 희소하다. 그 중에서 정말 좋은 프로젝트는 더 없고. 장/단기적인 플레이 스타일에 따라 조금은 달라질 수 있지만, 궁극적으로 이걸 잡아야 하는 게임.
- Attention is a currency on the modern web. It is the only scarce resource in crypto.

- 지금까지도 얼만큼의 기간동안 회사를 키우고 엑싯을 할지 결정할 수 있었으나, 크립토에서는 그 기간 스펙트럼이 훨씬 넓어졌다. 짧게는 하루 러그풀에서 길게는 영속하는 프로토콜까지. (물론 단기간 인센티브가 시간대비 효용이 더 커서 스캠이 많아졌고, 이는 당연하다) 그런 만큼 다양한 플레이가 나오고, 조금만 더 빠르고 똑똑하면 돈을 더 벌어간다. 반대로 조금만 둔하면 돈을 잃기 쉽다.
- 어차피 기존 시장에서도 Late Stage Private이 Public 간 이후 리테일 투자자에게 덤핑하는 현 상황에, 옳고 그름을 왈가왈부할 수는 없는 것 같고. 오히려 드는 생각은, Financial Incentive가 노골적이고 직접적인 현 상황에서 역으로 Incentive 없이 돌아갈 수 있는 모델/서비스가 굉장히 파워풀할 수밖에 없다는 것. 우리에게는 지금 토크노믹스를 잊게 만드는 프로덕트가 필요하다.

- 앞선 글에 이어지는 내용. 글 내용과 직결되지는 않으나 드는 생각은, 크립토라고 해서 사람 보고 투자하는거 변치 않았다는 사실. 오히려 심하면 더 심하다. SBF/Do Kown이 각각 SOL/LUNA 정점에 서서 Top-Down으로 진두지휘 하는 것도, Andre Cronje가 멱살잡고 Fantom 끌어올린 것도 다 기존보다 훨씬 decentralized 되었다고 보긴 힘들다.
- 또 수식으로 sustainable incentive 구현하기 쉽지 않다. 수식으로 표현되는 순간, ROI를 높이기 위한 tactic은 최적화된다. (물론 이가 완전히 나쁘다는 것은 아니다. 하지만 지속가능성을 해친다) 이는 mercenary한 사람들을 위한 playbook으로 전락한다. 그렇기 때문에 community에서 지속적으로 로드맵 보정이 필요하다. 그리고 이는 결국 attention을 획득해야 가능한 일이다. 결국 모든 크립토 프로덕트는 attention이 핵심 지표다.

- There's no need to distribute token w/o this sense because what it would bring is inflation. Risk-free means b/s. Nobody can have any sort of the token risk-freely by staking.
- "Staking mechanisms should be designed to support the goals of the ecosystem. They should be used to incentivise the parts of a product, community or network that requires people to do work or to take risk."
- "Without the stated goal from the ApeCoin board on what is the purpose of a staking program then it’s difficult to design a staking program that fulfils those goals. stETH-ETH has nothing to do with death spiral. Nothing is 'pegged'; stETH is derivative traded at the price based on demand for staked ETH.

The only part of concern is that leveraged positions are now in danger; and it would draw down the price of ETH and the entire market as well. The fundamental of Ethereum doesn't have any significant changes.
